Rob Cried Because of Elephant Tai In his recent interview with Vanity Fair Magazine, the Water for Elephants star revealed how he teared up when his animal co-star wrapped her scenes.
“[Tai] was the best actor I ever worked with in my life,” he says. “I cried when [Tai] the elephant was wrapped. I never cried when anyone else was wrapped.” The film’s director, Francis Lawrence, confirms the on-set romance, saying, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Rob says the reason he took the movie was because of the elephant. He really fell in love.”

In 2010, Kristin Davis was on the famous Oprah show to share the plight of orphaned elephants. Interestingly, Kristin related that even though the orphaned elephants were eventually released into the wild, they develop such strong bonds with their keepers that “[if] they have a baby, they’ll come back to show the baby to their keepers.”
Or, with their four octave voice, they can communicate for miles so that when a new orphaned elephant is being brought in on a truck, elephants that have been released out in the wild will come back to the reserve to greet and comfort the newbie with trunk hugs.
Or, how an injured elephant once sought help by bravely traveling back to the reserve so that the keepers could remove the arrows from its body, presumably shot by poachers, the biggest threat to elephant survival.
