Will David Slade Direct Breaking Dawn

After watching the vampire film of David Slade entitled 30 Days of Night on HBO Singapore on 31 October 2009, I will echo what New Moon director Chris Weitz has said about David Slade

It’s sort of David Slade’s show to run on Eclipse and by the time that comes out [in 2010] they will probably want him to do Breaking Dawn [and] not me.

From the images alone, Chris Weitz undoubtedly did a fantastic job with The Twilight Saga : New Moon, but, I think the diminutive ingenious director of the third installment will astound the Twilight fans with his crisp visionary storytelling in Eclipse

its too soon to tell.. but i kinda want the director of Lord Of The Rings to direct breaking Dawn

  • Laura Says:

Can I ask you why RobstenLIVES!!!? (Just wondering) :)

  • Lena Says:

It IS too soon to tell, but if Eclipse is as close to the book as it’s supposed to be (emotionally/physically, also) then I’ll bet that he should. It all depends, really on what the director has in mind for the movie; if they will keep certain things in that are essential to the story and keep things out that don’t really need to be kept in (EXCEPT parts where Bella/Edward are together; they are A MUST), lol.
David Slade, here’s to the date of the release; may it be a job well done *raises glass*

  • Laura Says:

Do you think they should do Breaking Dawn in two movies? I just think there is too much in this book to be in just a 120 min film is not long enough…

  • RobstenLIVES!!! Says:

i guess i would like Peter Jackson to direct Breaking Dawn is because it would take someone with a BIG imagination and experience with fantasy type films to pull Breaking Dawn off and have it done correctly.. and i think Peter Jackson’s record shows he is capable of making Breaking Dawn as awesome as we would like it :)

    I hope not…

Too soon to tell..I’ll get back to this question as soon as I see both the films. Also, I agree with Laura. Breaking Dawn should be two movies. And didn’t Boo Stewart said that he’ll be in three movies? Eclipse and two more movies, so they’re probably planning on doing it to two.

  • Melissa In Missouri Says:

Booboo was premature in his comments according to a release from Summit sometime ago. Just from the coverage of the two movies (Eclipse and New Moon), and the mood of the two of them…if they were going to bring one of the two back, I think the best fit would probably be weitz…. just because slade seems to have dark and creepy covered pretty well….. and for the most part, that is just not Breaking Dawn (in my opinion).

I think we need to see some of Eclipse before answering that. Wonder when we’ll start to see some teasers for Eclipse.

I also agree BD needs to be made into two movies. I think first part should go all the way up until the birth of the daughter “The one part of BD I hated. Think SM should not of bothered with that part of story line. Any how and second BD after the change.
