Whatever Happened to the Robert Pattinson BMW
Robert Pattinson describes his driving skills and car to InStyle Germany
“I’m a lousy driver and always got problems with my ready for the scrap heap-BMW, 1989 model.”
Reuters reports that the Twilight star had reason to call a towing company.
Pattinson said the old junker was towed recently and that he had good reason for moving on to another ride, despite the appeal of showing he was still a regular guy who happens to be a movie star.
“I was getting a bit scared that I was going to die in it, and thinking is the street cred value worth dying for? And I kind of decided it wasn’t.”
By the time Rob had his interview with GQ, staff member Alex Pappademas describes his new wheels when he accepted Rob’s offer to drive him back to his hotel.
We make it to the car and speed off. Pattinson’s old ’89 BMW finally died a few weeks ago, so he’s been driving this rented Audi S4. It’s a total junior-Endeavor-agent-on-the-make ride. We point this out. “I think my agent does have this car, actually,” Pattinson says.
And, you might ask, why the heck should you be interested in Rob’s 1989 BMW? Well, there’s speculation that Nikki Reed is driving that particular car around LA. I’m just suggesting there’s a possibility that it might not be the Robert Pattinson 1989 BMW for who would ask a friend to drive a death trap?

Lorna, there’s a rumor (?) that Nikki Reed is driving around CA in Rob’s BMW. I am beyond irritated =( Can’t help but think she’s milking this (both personally and professionally) because Rob doesn’t need any more publicity!

Rain88ph, if you think about it, it’s good if Nikki keeps on doing this kind of publicity stuff because her true colors will come out even more until it’s so glaring Rob might even start avoiding her and stick to BFF Sam.
Rob considers Nikki a friend, nothing more. If he’s attracted to her, he won’t be able to hide it. His body language will tell on him.
Besides, just read again what I wrote. My point is, it may not even be the same car. Does anyone have the license plate of Rob’s 89 BMW? If anyone can produce that and it turns out to be the same, then that’s the only time I’ll believe it’s Rob’s car.

It’s my natural (robsten) protective instincts coming to fore, making me unable to think straight! Doesn’t help that I don’t trust Nikki’s motives .. but you’re right again, the more she does stunts like this, the more her true colors come out.

The buzz is that the alleged old BMW of Rob seen in the photo with NR is actually parked in front of Kristen’s new condominium.

Chi, you mean NR is house sitting Kristen’s condo while she’s in Vancouver?
Still, the point is, no one can prove conclusively it’s Rob’s BMW, since the wreck has died on him already earlier this year.
Considering how he’s careful about his money, would he spend a large amount of cash to resuscitate the car? And, again, considering his character, would a gentleman ask a lady to drive a car where he almost met his death several times?
There’s lot of questionable details about this allegation. Like, if Entertainment Tonight were to report this, without a statement from Rob, its staff would find:
certificate of ownership of Rob’s car with its details like license plate, color, registration no., etc.
towing receipt of said car
release form from towing truck’s premises or wherever the car was stored
receipt and release form from garage that did the substantial repairs
I’m not so sure though which are public records. So, still, the best thing to do would be to get a statement from Rob himself about what happened to his 89 BMW.
And, yes, Leila, the car is cute because it’s such a character piece for Rob.

Rob, Nikki and Kristen situation is really irritating. Can you guys please come clean with this crazy triangle relationship? If there’s an existence? I don’t think Nikki is driving Rob’s car, but I do think she’s trying her best to reel him back. If I was Rob and Kristen, I would drop Nikki quick. Thanks Rain88, those are some really neat articles on Nikki. Why is she copying Robert from his personal car to the rental? Why were she driving a convertable BMW(LIKE ROB HAD) to an Audi which is Rob rental? Nikki must be really desperate. I honesly think Nikki and her best bud boyfriend Michael is doing whatever they can to keep the rumors going to keep Rob and Kristen apart. I know Kristen suppose to be your best friend(JUST TO GET ROB, OF COURSE). Why is Nikki dressing like Kristen all the way down to the shoes? Is she trying to impress Rob to want her? Just a theory.

i never read/heard that nikki was seen driving it, or maybe i was too behind with my gossip. She was photographed standing beside it, like trying to check it out, and as mentioned it was parked in front of kstew’s new house. And on the same series of pictures of NR, she’s actually driving a white SUV that’s parked beside the BMW, and she’s with kstew’s mom, probably she’s furniture shopping for kstew’s new house.
and someone from other board mentioned that kstew’s family love fixing old cars… i just thought that was mention-worthy… hehehe
