What Does Taylor Lautner Say in Quileute to Kristen Stewart in New Moon
Stephenie Meyer writes in The Twilight Saga that Quileutes are descended from the wolves, and ties it in with the vampire mythology. From this video, we learn that the Quileutes really do believe that they originated from the majestic beast.
In preparation for his role as Quileute werewolf Jacob Black, Taylor Lautner visited the tribe to learn more about their ways and language. ATK reader Amy noted that Taylor used this knowledge to add a line in The Twilight Saga : New Moon in Quileute and wishes to learn what it means.
I have now seen New Moon twice and I paid special attention to what Jacob says prior to trying to kiss Bella in the kitchen scene.
As you may know, Taylor Lautner is not telling anyone what the phrase means and he says he learned it during his visit to the real La Push from the tribal elder. I know the language is almost dead and there are only a few people who still know it.
The phrase was pronounced “Que Quowle” [k-we k-WOW-le] and I really want to know what that means.

Hey Lorna:
I love your site, this is my first stop for twilight saga, Rob and Kris news, I think this is the first or second time I’ve left a comment, I always get too into the reading and forget.
This time I want to ask, did any one notice on the new moon red carpet in L.A. that Emily deRavin (the actrice from Lost, she stars with Rob on Remember me) was there?
What was she doing there?? My guess is that she was there for Summit and to get us guessing about Robsten.
But also did you hear when Guiliana from Enews asked Rob about his down time after the promotional stuff, he sayed that he wanted to “just do nothing”, later she askes Kristen about her down time and she tells her what Rob sayed and she says “Oh, I want to do nothing so badly”, *hint hint* What do you guys think???

Hey guys, thank you Lorna for posting this for me. So i’m not absolutely sure, but a facebook source (who knows how reliable that is) stated that the phrase means “stay with me forever” in quileute. This would make sense to me- so that’s my best guess so far.

Hey Amy, another FBer said it means I love you. Maybe it’s a cross of the two; Jacob basically telling her she’s the one for him.

Hey Lorna!
I guess I found answer to your question
This post was on Twifans.com: http://www.twifans.com/profiles/blogs/found-out-what-jacob-says-in
According to my source Carol H. jacob learned to say I love you in quileute and ad-libbed that line the day of the filming. He said this to bella before the almost kiss, and so many fans have been dying to know what was said. I tried my hand at learning some of the language phrases on the quileute home page first. With no luck because there was no phrase that would have been close to what he said in a romantic way on that page I finally decided to hunt down someone who knew the lanugage. Which i thought this to be very tough since taylor said in an interview that only 4 or 5 people still know the language. So this was quite an easter egg hunt for sure. So after hours and hours of searching i stumbled upon this contact and then had to wait to hear from her to find out if i had the right person or if she even knew the language . Turned out I did indeed have the right person and was so excited to hear from her today . So for all of you that were dying to know what was said I hope you enjoy !

I love Jacob, he’s so cuet, but Edward is so much better. Jacob ruins everything in Eclipse, and i sorta wish he wasnt alive at times. but then he says cute things in Quilliet, and i kinda like him a little. i like taylor better then robert…robert is real scrawny compared to taylor….

When Jacob says “kwopkalawo’li” (pronunced quo-p-kah-lah-WOH-oh-lee) to Bella, he is saying “I Love You” in Quileute.
