What Did Robert Pattinson Mean About Wanting to Go On A Date

In his Today Show interview to promote The Twilight Saga Eclipse, Robert Pattinson has been quoted to say:
“I would like to go out on a date. I’m just saying, I’m just putting that out there, ’cause I never go on dates anymore.”
Under the assumption that he and Kristen Stewart are an item, I find it quite rude to create the impression that one is available and desiring to go out on a date.
On the other hand, if I put on my rose colored Robsten glasses, I will venture to guess that what Robert Pattinson meant to say was that he would like to go out on an ordinary date with Kristen Stewart, since they are robbed of the opportunity because of all the mayhem and speculation.
But, still, if Kristen Stewart decides to bash him a little bit for such a statement, I will totally understand why. There’s no need to confirm anything, yet there’s no need to create a falsehood either. I should think by now Robert Pattinson has enough experience to artfully dodge the relationship question.

Wow that was actually mean towards Kristen. I would totally understand too if she bashed him a little for it. But maybe he did mean that he wanted to go out on a ‘normal’date with kristen. Let’s hope that’s it.Still love ya Robsten!!

Well, i really do hope that he meant he would like to go on a date with Kristen and not actually “date”. You know what i mean? Cause i know married couples also have dates together but it’s a bit unclear what Rob was trying to tell with his answer. If he tries to make himself look like a single guy i think that’s incredibly rude of him. I really love him and Kristen together…

I’m getting tired with all this speculation and the sad thing is that all this rumorology totally overshadows their work as actors…It wouldn’t be such a big deal if they gave the answer,everybody is dying to know,they owe us nothing though and it’s their decision.Maybe they’re just friends or maybe they’re together and Summit doesn’t allow them to come out,because all this speculation helps the movie or because they’re afraid of a possible future break-up that would damage the franchise,maybe they’ve signed contracts for this matter.
It’s sad though because they’re so talented and gorgeous and the only thing everyone wants to know is about their relationship status,it’s so unfair,especially for Kristen,who is an artist,not a celebrity and really hates all this stuff,that’s why she’s so awkward and uncomfortable sometimes.
I think they’re in a no win situation and that;s really sad…(sorry for my English)

@Ariadne, I totally understand your point of view.. but in ATK we really respect both Rob and Kristen work a lot! and we do discuss that also.. it’s not just are they or aren’t they together..
Now speaking for myself, when Twilight first started I really did not care if they were a couple or not. I was actually making jokes about it.. and than she broke up with her 4 years boyfriend!! and it was than when I started wondering whether it was because of Rob.. and if it was worth it.. I don’t know.. call it curiosity maybe? they are public personalities so.. yeah it’s obvious that people are going to question about their personal life! There is no harm about that as long as it is not getting way too far (like the mayhamont hotel incident last summer! that was beyond unacceptable!)..

@MadameCullen I mean the media and the crazy fans not the ATK readers,media treat Rob & Kristen with an invasive and disrespectful way.I also like to speculate,I’m not gonna lie,but sometimes things get really wild,cross the line and it’s really sad.Today for instance after this interview there was so much hate over the internet.Another thing I don’t find appropriate is asking them personal questions wherever they go knowing how these two feel about this,it really hurts me to see Kristen so scared and uncomfortable everytime someone mentions Rob,imagine being in her shoes.My posts are just my personal thoughts,I’m not referring to ATK or anyone.If they’re a couple,it’s really sweet,but at the same time it’s really hard to deal with ’cause they’re both so famous.I wish them luck ’cause the whole situation is really crazy

i read the title at first, and read the quote from rob and started freaking out, it doesnt sound good. but then i watched the video, and i gotta tell you, the way he said it…like the interviewer said “its not because of lack of opportunity.” i was worried about what rob said before i watched the video, but something about the way rob said it made it feel like he just doesnt go on dates (with kristen) because people would attack them. imagine if people saw them bowling together or out shopping or eating, even worse, if they got pictures of just them two alone, the internet would go crazy and interviewers would ask them about the photos and their privacy would be invaded even more so that it is now. its basically impossible for them to go on a date.
all in all, come on people. of course they are a couple
they just find it hard to go out sometimes, but thats okay, i bet they like staying in…;)

this is soooo random, but i miss the feel of twilight. twilight was a low budget, independent film that had artistic shots and really captured the rainy, lush feel of the pacific northwest. I live in Washington state and twilight really just captured the feel. Plus, all the interviews were just rob and kstew, nobody even knew about taylor really. there was no pressure because there wasnt a lot of fame. the first movie was not some big hollywood thing with tons of special effects. Now, if feel like new moon, eclipse, and breaking dawn are and will be too hollywood. the same feel isnt there in the movies, its some huge movie saga with big stars. Lots of hype and lots of special effects. I know there has to be some because of the nature of the stories, but sometimes i feel like all this is just TOO much.

Sooooo many cute moments i dont even know where to begin. im not a huge taylor fan, but this vid make me like him a bit, hehe! i cant believe kstew kissed him on the cheek! i bet rob was mad!! I read the quote above and I watched the video and I still came up with the same conclusion: HE’S TAUNTING KRISTEN TO GO OUT ON A NORMAL DATE WITH HIM! He said, “I’m just saying, I’m just putting that out there.” could mean a lot of things but that and the word ANYMORE made me think that he’s talking about him and Kristen. You know guys, ‘nagpaparinig’ ba. LOL
So don’t worry guys. It’s not like he said straightforward “I’m single”. When he do, then you should freak out!

@Lala I agree with her If he’s single or he’s not dating anyone he would just rather say ” Im not dating anyone or I dont go on a date or something. When he said that he want’s to go out on a date cause he never go on dates anymore he mean a real date like you know the usual dating, have dinner together in a restaurant, watch movies in a cinema together, walking holding hands in a park, breakfast together in a cofee shop and shopping without any pressure from the media. He just can’t say directly to the interviewer that ” Kristen and I don’t go out on a normal date anymore cause this ppl will just ruined it and they will just scrutinized everything were having right now”. He missed the usual dating thing before, remember he and Kristen were seen together several times in a bar or in a reataurant last year and there are some pics they were very closed and seen very happy but then again there was this paparazzi who are always following them. I think he really loves her so much that he really wanted to show to everyone he wanted to date Kristen in a very special and romantic way like doing the normal dating not just staying inside the hotel or house. He even mention before that he wanted to be a young dad and said to Oprah that Kristen is pregnant and he was asked in the LA Eclipse convention about who’s going to portray he’s life and he said my son. He is really serious of getting married and having a family with Kristen but just he cannot voice out this thing directly to the people cause he’s protecting Kristen from the paparazzi. I think they already married I just noticed that Kristen was rubbing her ring during the LA convention. Sorry for the long comment.

i really hope robsten is real. it drives me crazy when sometimes they are so much like bestfriends but some other times they are like in a very serious relationship. assumption has been made by millions of fans all over the world but as long as they keep their mouth shut, we’ll never know whether it is real or not. i know they want to keep it private (especially kristen) but this will only lead to more craziness among the fans and paparazis. if robsten really real, why cant she treat rob the way she treat her ex (michael arangano)? is it because summit told them no to? or is it because she doesnt want to hurt michael’s feeling eventhough their relationship has over. it’s like an unsolved puzzle.
whatever it is, i am still a big fan of kristen stewart. love her just the way she is.

I’ve been thinking long and hard about this. I’m a big robsten fan but i don’t know if they exist or not anymore to be honest. They are very close and i’d say they did sleep together but i think it could be hyped up for publicity for the movies. There are a few times when i’ve thought they could be a couple. The Harper’s Bazaar Interview and pics; the Kings of Leon concert; New Year’s in England; Budapest. Now i’m not sure. It’s interviews like this that f*** with my head. Why make comments like wanting to date and not settle if you’re in a relationship. There was also another recent interview where he was asked if he had to fight for a girl in real life like Edward in Eclipse. He said “yeah probably. But that was more about pride than love i think”. Was he talking about michael angarano? Does he not love her?

Of course Kristen is behind all of this. If we all notice before Rob and K became item, Rob said whatever he wanted to say. And of course Kristen cannot control it.
I am not sure when they started as an item, but for sure when Kristen hair was black, there relationship was already there. It’s official between them. I am happy to hear that Rob said, he would never be the man who breaks up someone’s relationship. It means Kristen decided to broke up with MA.
Anyway since then, Rob is more controlled to say anything about Kristen.
As for “WANTING TO GO OUT ON DATE”, my theory is:
1. Kristen : Ok Rob, we should never tell public that we are dating. Because look at us, we cannot have a date like normal people.
2. Rob to someone he loves: whatever you say, love. LOL

1. Interview in e-news. Kristen said : Someone asked me is it weird that you’re dating Robert and that he is also your boyfriend in movie.I dont know that I was dating anyone.

I don’t know what to believe anymore :-/ I love Robsten but something doesn’t seem right in the latest interviews.Hope it’s not PR because that would be so lame.Ok I get that we love something,which we don’t know if it’s true,no verbal confirmation,but in my opinion Rob/Kristen gave food for thought to the fans(HB,seating together at the MTV,Budapest…)so it’s not completely our fault to believe in their relationship
