MTV reports that The Twilight Saga star is in talks to star in the screen adaptation of another book based film — Water for Elephants. If he accepts the role, Robert Pattinson may be acting opposite Oscar winners Sean Penn and Reese Witherspoon
Aside from his co-stars, the story of the film Water for Elephants will surely provide a challenge for Robert Pattinson
Set during the Great Depression, Water for Elephants tells the story of a young man who leaves his life as a Cornell University veterinary student after losing both his parents in a car accident, and jumps onto a train that happens to house the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.
Jacob is employed as the show’s veterinarian and he faces a number of challenges in dealing with the head trainer, August, while also learning how to function in the hierarchy of the circus and falling in love with August’s wife, Marlena.

Keeping fingers crossed for Rob to get the parts he would like to play. Looking forward to RM red carpet premier in NYC apparently on 1st March 2010. I wish I’m in NY to attend or witness the event.
Is there any ATK fan around NYC who might be able to attend the premier so we can have an insight to the event first hand? Hoping that UC is still on his tight schedule. Looking forward to BA also. Is his character’s name Jacob? Lol cause that is just so ironic. Anyway, I hope he takes the role. I mean he’s a great actor and all but he needs to be recognise not just for his Twilight character. Some people thought that he’s just a pretty face for us teens but this role will prove them wrong. So Rob pls accept this role? Pretty pls?!
