Twilight Director Casts Stars Due to Sexual Chemistry

During the premiere of the Twilight film in London, Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke reveals to BBC the main reason behind casting Robert Pattinson to be Edward Cullen to Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan, “Robert and Kristen have this amazing sexual chemistry between them – we could see it in the audition. That’s why we cast them, you can’t create that. It has to be there.”
The same sexual chemistry that helped the Twilight director cast the charming Brit actor also had her worried about a possible romance. Catherine Hardwicke offered the Edward Cullen role to Robert Pattinson with a condition, “Just promise me you won’t try and get at Kristen. Her boyfriend is one of my close friends.” (Go to 5:42)

it upsets me how catherine hardwick was contradicting herself , saying all those things about rob and kris chemestry and then getting into kristens life by saying to rob no to try anything with her cause she was friends with angarano .ITS KRISTEN’S LIFE SHE DOES WHATEVER SHE WANTS WITH IT if she wants to stay with anagarano thats her deal if she leaves him for rob that is also her deal . she owns her life she can do what she wants with it she doesnt need a director of afilm , no matter how much of a friend she is, telling her or her co star what to do in a personal matter, its her choice not hardwicks and for that reason im glad they changed the director

Hi Vanessa. Thanks for the heads up. I have no idea why Tv Guide put the setting on private, when it used to be public before, meaning everyone can see it. (Maybe there’s a conspiracy to keep it a secret. LOL) I’ll search YouTube to see if anyone else uploaded it.
But, rest assured, Rob related that Catherine did say it to him, and it’s also mentioned in this interview:
“Their off-screen chemistry was enough to concern Hardwicke, who revealed she was worried the duo’s obvious closeness would mean the end of Stewart’s relationship with her boyfriend of five years, actor Mike Angarano.
“Angarano is a close friend of Hardwicke’s since she directed him in 2005’s Lords of Dogtown.
“Stewart takes a breath and looks at the floor when told of Hardwicke’s comment.”
