Through the comments section, ATK reader Laura shared the fact that she was going to be part of the UK New Moon Fan Party, so I requested her for a personal account of the event and how did it all come about. Here is her detailed report:

The UK New Moon Fan Party Contest

I wanted to go to the UK New Moon premiere. However, when I searched on the Internet to know when it was happening, I found out that it wasn’t actually going to occur. So I guessed something else would happen and I finally ended up on this blog, kstewartfans, and saw a link to a website called ticketweb.co.uk that sells tickets for any kind of event.

Then I read that there was this New Moon UK fan party on the 11th of November, and, of course, I was ready to go. LOL. I thought I had to pay to go to the event, but, it was a competition, which meant they had a limited number of tickets. So I just gave my personal information on the website, then I had to wait.

On Saturday, I found out that I had won. I was so happy, I actually cried. I couldn’t believe it! So yeah, I got lucky…

The UK New Moon Fan Party Report

My friend and I arrived at the Battersea Park and OMG! We actually thought it was going to be hundreds of people, mostly girls obviously, but, it was in fact thousands of them!

You cannot imagine how long the queues were. There were two queues – one to get the tickets and the second one was for the people with the tickets waiting to go inside the party. There was even a queue to get food! My friend and I were among the first 300 people so it was ok. Overall, we had to wait a bit more than two hours standing in the cold.

Once mostly everyone got their tickets (around 4:30 pm), the security guards started to let people go to the arena. We began to walk to the Battersea arena and suddenly there was a long, red carpet leading to the entrance of the arena.

The fans who had not gotten tickets were behind the security bars screaming. There were also photographers and journalists. I know some people were interviewed by some magazines. I think everyone felt like celebrities.

Personally, it was my first time in the Battersea arena, so I wasn’t expecting it to be so immense. It was dark with red lights everywhere and at the corners of the hall were bars to drink and eat.

Everything inside was just awesome, it was the best decoration ever. There was like a meadow at the entrance, fires, a big fake moon (which looked great), and then in the hall were on the walls posters of the different clans in New Moon — the Cullens, the wolf pack, the Volturi plus single pictures of Edward, Bella and Jacob.

Everyone took their places. Of course, we wanted to be at the front, but, there were too much people, so we kind of ended up in the middle. Once more, we had to wait two hours for the party to commence. But, I have to say the second hour was so loud and exciting as well. In the hall were two big screens in which we watched The Twilight Saga : New Moon cast coming to the red carpet one by one.

First was Robert Pattinson (you can visualize how loud it was because of the screams), a few minutes later, it was Taylor Lautner, and, finally, Kristen Stewart, who looked so beautiful!

We also saw some interviews of two of the bands that performed that night (Band of Skulls and The Magic Numbers) and the producer of the movie.

After all that excitement the party at last started at 7:00 pm. The music was truly good. Everyone was jumping and singing. It was cool to see everyone having fun and enjoying the music. Around 8:00 pm the big moment began. Nick Grimshaw, who hosted the event, started to introduce one by one the cast and director Chris Weitz

The live Q&A started. The four of them were asked questions and they were all very nice, funny with deep answers.

My favourite Q&A were the ones directed to Kristen:

Kristen was asked if she could change anything in the book/movie what would it be?

And her answer was pretty umm team Edward. She said she would transform Bella into a vampire.

The second one, and that’s the best one (lol), was if she was Bella’s friend who would she (Kristen) advice her to choose between Edward and Jacob?

Kristen’s answer was that if she was Bella’s friend she would advice her to choose Jacob so she (Kristen) could have Edward!!

To me it seemed like she was trying to say she is Team Edward/Rob or maybe that she simply likes Robert
