A Twilight Kiss

SEQ 01. INT. Backstage Door. A man with a security ID escorts a mother and her young daughter backstage. A person with a production pass meets them.

PA
Hi, I’m Lesley. You must be the winners of the contest. Congratulations! Please follow me.

SEQ 02. INT. Backstage Room. The PA knocks then opens the door. A man and a lady are talking to a young man. The man and the lady go to a corner of the room to continue their conversation. The PA addresses the young man.

PA
Good evening, sir. This is Elsa, the winner of the contest. And, this is her mom, Helen. Ladies, I’ll be back in a couple of minutes to escort you back to the audience area. Thanks and congrats again.

HELEN
Hi. I’m Helen and this is Elsa. We’re both fans of Twilight. Actually, it’s Elsa who introduced me to the books. We just love the movie.

ROB
Thank you.

HELEN
Sweetie, why don’t you stand beside him so that I can take your picture?

Elsa stands beside Rob while Helen excitedly snaps a couple of pictures with the camera.

HELEN
Elsa, what do you say?

ELSA
Thank you.

Elsa reaches into her jeans pocket and brings out something that she offers to Rob. He looks at it and then at the mom, not sure of what to do. Rob’s agent and manager come closer in concern.

HELEN
Elsa, honey, what’s that for?

ELSA
I read that somebody paid $20,000 for a kiss, but, I’ve only saved up $20. It’s all I have. Is that okay?

Helen gasps.

HELEN
Elsa!

ROB
It’s okay.

Rob bends at the waist so that he’s face level with Elsa.

ROB
How about we make a deal? Why don’t you keep the $20.

Rob stuffs the dollar bill back into her jeans pocket. He looks at Helen.

ROB
And, if it’s alright with your mom, I’ll give you a kiss on the cheek, but, it has to be our secret. Deal?

ELSA
Mom?

HELEN
Of course, yes.

Rob gives Elsa a gentle kiss on the cheek. A knock is heard and the door opens.

PA
Rob, your limo is here. We have to move fast or the paps might surround it.

ROB
I must apologize, but, we need to rush off. Make sure to watch all the movies till Breaking Dawn.

HELEN
Yes, we will! Thank you!

ROB
‘Bye.

Rob and his management team follow the PA. As the mother and daughter watch their quickly retreating figures, Elsa raises her hand to the cheek where Rob kissed her. She smiles softly.

ELSA
Thank you.
