The Twilight vs. Harry Potter Debate

On the debate of Twilight vs. Harry Potter, I am on Team Switzerland.
Well, actually, no.
I think it’s ridiculous! There’s nothing the same about the two series except for the fact that they both have fantastical elements.
It’s like comparing apples and oranges. They’re both fruits. That’s it.
I happen to LOVE both the Twilight and Harry Potter series for entirely different reasons. So there! Oh, and thanks, Warner and Summit, for making sure the two films’ openings are not on the same day!

I saw this on Snitchseeker. While, they did bring up excellent points about Harry Potter, I think that the Twilight team did admirably. And you’re right. There is no comparison and it’s ridiculous to try. They are nothing alike. And I completely disagree that Bella isn’t a strong woman. She grows up quite a bit over the series.

The only similarities I can see between Twilight and Harry Potter:
1. Began as a book (now a series)
2. Being made into movies that are wildly popular
3. Pattinson was in one of the Harry Potter movies and is now in Twilight
4. Both have supernatural elements
Exactly like you wrote–apples and oranges. I’ll take one of each.

I’m not a fan of Harry Potter, never got into it. I actually tried to watch one of the movies and I ended up getting bored, no offense to those who like it.
There’s really no comparison. I like Twilight better. Sometimes I wish Edward Cullen is real. Robert Pattinson is pretty close enough though.

hate to break it to you everyone on this site who is very sad fyi. but i dont even like either yet harry potter must of gotten the overall vote considering that twilight has been called “the worst written book of all time” and harry potter has sold 21 times as many copies. although i dont like either, harry potter has had people like obama read it whereas twilight is for sad preteen girls…
