Before you dismiss the notion of New Moon as a 2010 Best Picture nominee, let me present two reasons why I think that it’s a sure bet.
Double the Number Associated Press reports.
The best-picture lineup at the Academy Awards is doubling from five films to 10. The plan is a return to Oscar traditions of the 1930s and ’40s, when a best-picture field of 10 or more films was common.
Increase the Ratings Furthermore, one of the reasons for this decision was revealed.
[The] organizers said [that the change] will open the field to more worthy movies and possibly boost the ceremony’s TV ratings.
The change, which was approved Tuesday night by the board of governors for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, takes effect at next year’s Oscars on March 7, [2010].
Ten and Robert Pattinson The Twilight Saga hunk has already proven that his presence in an awards show, such as the Oscars, is sure to attract Twilighters all over the world. Add the other members of the Twilight cast and you have a sure fire winner.
And, if you add the fact that the playing field for the Oscar Best Picture has just been doubled, plus, Chris Weitz is obviously making a fantastic film, then, wouldn’t you agree with me that New Moon is a sure bet as a nominee for the 2010 Oscar Best Picture?

K. Stewart should fist get some acting class…
poor mediocre acting, nice pretty 19-year old girl as thousand pretty HOLLYWOOD girls do not last long. WOODS is a great actor, no talent for movie directing. STEWART, no talent. An american girl = risky business.

From what we’ve also seen so far, Kristen looks like she brought her A-game to New Moon acting wise. Her expressions and overall look just screams note-worthy (even if she wasn’t considered for a nomination).

Hey Antony, you don’t know talent when you see it, do you? Kristen is bringing it in New Moon. I like Twilight, but it was missing something. CH did the best that she could with the budget she was given. CW has done a remarkable job with New Moon, and hopefully he will helm Breaking Dawn if his schedule permits and Summit asks him back.

If would truly be the end of the film industry in Hollywood (which is already abysmal) if a film such as New Moon was even considered for a best picture nomination.

New Moon has reached over millions of fans!!! if a movie can reach that many younger people in such little time of 1-2 years, it should be nominated. I dont care if your one of those stupid idiotic people who only make fun of it becuase your sad with your own boring lives and think harry potter is better. Harry potter isnt even that popluar!!! most fans say that the half blood prince was horrible!!!!!New moon brought a whole new view to the saga that Twilight couldn’t do. New Moon was beyond beautiful with its scenery and every actor played their part flawlessly. They even added some comedy in it!!!! The actors and actresses worked so hard and they deserve an oscar. Avatar does too i guess, i saw it. I didn’t think it was htat good. Kinda creepy and weird to be honest. But anyways, New Moon impacted all types of people!! Young and old!!!! it will have more fans and more awards then harry potter will EVER have so GET OVER IT!! NEW MOON DESERVES BEST MOTION PICTURE NOMINEE FOR SURE!!!!!
