The Twilight Saga MISSING SCENE Fan Fiction Challenge

Have you ever imagined a scene where Jacob and Bella went to watch a football game? Or Bella and Edward sneaked into the school janitor’s closet for a kiss? Or, a Bella and Alice shopping spree with Angela in tow? Whatever scene it is, here’s a contest for you!

Novel Novice Twilight is teaming up with Defining Twilight author Brian Leaf for The Twilight Saga MISSING SCENE Fan Fiction Challenge!

* The story can be told from any character’s POV (or in second or third person narrative).
* You may write a missing scene from any of the four books (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse or Breaking Dawn), but the key is to write a MISSING scene. That means, it cannot be a scene that appears in any of the books; we want you to write something that was left out.
* You may not rewrite an existing scene from another character’s POV. Your story must focus on a scene that was not included in any of the original books. (If you rewrite an existing scene from another character’s POV, your story will be disqualified).
* Stories must use proper grammar & spelling; any stories with frequent grammatical & spelling errors will be automatically disqualified.
* Stories should be at least 500 words long.
* Please keep the content of your story to PG-13 or lower rating.
* When e-mailing your story submission, you must attach the story as a Word document (.doc) or Text file (.txt).
* With your story, please include a title and your author’s name.
* For this challenge, you may only submit one story.
* Anyone is welcome to enter the contest, but please note: we can only send prizes to people living within the United States. Sorry.

Everybody can join. If you win and you live outside the United States, there’s a disclaimer that they can only send prizes within the United States (maybe you can ask whether they can send the first prize of an Autographed Twilight cast photo to be sent to your friend or relative in the United States).

Deadline of submission is on 31 August 2009 12mn (PST)

Ughhh, the deadline’s on Monday! I want to but I need enough time.

  • julia23 Says:

I definitly want to but I can’t cuz I don’t hace enough time!!! can’t cuz

  • twilight Says:

I’m so sorry. I only learned about it today, but, I think it was announced much earlier. :(

  • Bell Says:

Ugh, too bad I don’t live in the States :S

  • twilight Says:

Bell, you can still join and win it. If you do win, they just can’t send your prize outside of the US. That’s why I suggested finding a friend or relative based in the US to receive it for you. :)

  • Bell Says:

Oh, wow, that would be good!!
*Bell hurriedly opens a new doc… and starts typing: Once upon a time…*

Mmmm I’m really considering my participation, thanks Lorna!

  • robyn Says:

go Bell! scratch the once upon a time, on to the juicy bits already *oh forgot this is Twilight and not R/K rpf*. is there a requisite rating *checks the rules* oh PG-13. no flying feathers part 2 I guess. LOL

  • Bell Says:

    No flying feathers???
    Too bad… I guess I can think of something less… NC-17 lol

  • robyn Says:

yeah like Jacob playing with nessie in the park. or teaching her to growl. ugh this is hopeless…
*mind away from the gutter Bell.forget the feathers.focus!*

  • Bell Says:

Ugh… it’ll take a day just to get the idea, lol
    No NC-17 is very difficult!!!

  • robyn Says:

IKR? what about Nessie playing with her baby brother? but E/B has to go to Isle Esme first. argh can’t win here. *where’s dreea? maybe she has a better idea..gee forgot the girl is on honeymoon mode herself*

and it says PG-13 or lower. lower?!!
these rules..always gettin in the way…

  • Bell Says:

Mmm… now I hate the rules (just know? lol)

Gotta go sleep, maybe I’ll have a dream revelation that can help to write a good story ;)
Can you that too? No, sleep no! I guess you’re working, dream? Neither, it would be a NC-17 dream… er… just try to have a revelation to help this brainless Bell? LOL

  • twilight Says:

Everyone, please remember that the missing scene must be within the four books or it will be disqualified. Going beyond Breaking Dawn may be cause for disqualification.

If you want a “sensual” scene, how about another attempt by Bella to seduce Edward aside from the bed scene in Eclipse?

Or, remember, Edward tried not to make love to Bella after the first time in Breaking Dawn. You can expand an excursion scene in Isle Esme to a seduction attempt by Bella. Stephenie wrote that they snorkeled, watched the sunset, swam with the porpoises, etc. These were one sentence bits that can be expanded into more than 500 words. :)

Use the books to set your limits. The aborted lovemaking scenes can be sexy and be PG-13.

  • robyn Says:

sorry we we’re just fooling around. we apologize if our clouded bantering mislead anyone…just check the rules guys ;)

  • Vic01 Says:

I would like to write missing screne, and I have a lot of idea, but I live in Hungary not in the USA… so… I don’t know… :-S

Lorna, do you want to write a missing scene? I am sure, If you write, you will win. :-)

  • twilight Says:

Hey Vic01, please don’t let the fact that you’re in Hungary stop you. If you win, I’m sure we can think of a way to get that prize to you. And, thanks for the vote of confidence, but, I feel compelled to point out that there are lots of wonderful writers, including a lot of ATK readers such as yourself. :)

  • Lala Says:

OMG! Good idea Vic01! Lorna you should join this contest! You’ll win for sure. Represent ATK! Lol

  • marya Says:

i hope lorna will write many many juicy ‘missing scenes’ and share it with us. :)

  • missie Says:

    Yeaah!! Look at Lorna’s twitter:

Write d missing scene from The Twilight Saga series http://bit.ly/16Z2UR about 7 hours ago

She dicided to write something! Thanks Lorna!!

  • twilightrulez21 Says:

i got one question : can you continue the story form what Bella said of the last page of Breaking Dawn?

  • missie Says:

@ twilightrulez21- No, your story will be disqualified.it must be a missing scene during one of the books. Look in the comments above, i think lorna write something about it.

  • Maio Says:

Bell is great that you want to write something! I know is not a happy thing but maybe something about the time that Edward was away from Bella, or maybe one sceen when they travel to Jacksonville to see Renee…
Lorna, it would be marvellous that you write something too…

  • Jime Says:

great, but too bad the prize is just for US, and that Im not very good writing in english. But it seems fun!!! Good luck for the ones that participate.
I always wanted more details on isla esme (that makes me feel so sick, lol) ..but it will have been so romantic!

  • ruthie Says:

    im in!!!!

  • missie Says:

@ Jime- i want some details too..;) But as robyn and bell said, its just PG-13:-(
