A Twilight Kiss

For this fan fiction challenge, I had to look up the meaning of the word canon, because, one of the rules states that “The story must fit within canon.”

A canon, in terms of a fictional universe, is a body of material that is considered to be “genuine” or “official”, that can be directly referenced as, or as if it were, material produced by the original author or creator of a series. New works set within that universe are ostensibly constrained to be consistent with pre-existing canon…

Twilight Novel Novice lists the other rules.

Write a story about two characters in love.

* The story can take place at any point in time — before Twilight, during any of the four books, or after Breaking Dawn.

* You may write about any of the characters from the Twilight Saga (vampires, humans, wolves, etc.), but the pairing must fit within canon.

* You may write from any POV/perspective (1st person-any character, 2nd person, 3rd person).

Your story can be sweet, romantic, funny, or whatever strikes your muse, as long as it’s a love story between two characters.

All entries are due by midnight (PST) on Monday, 01 March 2010.

Here are my suggestions for possible story lines. Obviously, an Edward and Bella scene that’s not included in The Twilight Saga series would be interesting. Like, how did Edward persuade Bella to use the high end car that he gave her? Or, how did Edward and Bella celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together?

Another one that intrigues me is the relationship of nomadic vampires Victoria and James. Of course, the story of Volturi Marcus and his Didyme is utterly fascinating too.
