The Robert Pattinson Diaries — Into the Wild with Kristen Stewart

Robert Pattinson

I wanted to be Emile Hirsch. I wanted to be Emile Hirsch because I wanted to play Christopher McCandless in the film Into the Wild. I wanted to play Christopher McCandless in Into the Wild because I wanted to be with the nymph Tracy Tatro

The nymph’s back was to the camera, her dark hair screening her features, a mysterious creature that unfolded from her hiding place when her name was called, and glided across the short expanse of the mock stage. As her dulcet tones accompanied the soft strumming of the guitar, I fell under her spell.

As the nymph gazed at Christopher McCandless with budding desire, I was gripped with a jealousy that was foreign to me. I wanted her to look at me that way. I wanted to walk beside her and talk about nonsensical things. I wanted her to cook for me. I wanted to eat dinner with her. I wanted to sit beside her quietly. I wanted to lace my fingers through her hand. I wanted to be with her.

And then the nymph offered herself to him and my heart wrung in despair. Her beautiful limbs were apart, inviting and welcoming him to sink into her depths.

When he refused, the staggering relief was almost unbearable. However, his offer to do something together with the nymph was upsetting.

I wanted him away from her. Their near coming together had been excruciatingly painful to witness. But the activity that they chose to do together would prove to be just as agonizing.

They were onstage. Together. Why? She was singing to him. No! My nymph was supposed to sing for me alone. She was supposed to caress my face with her sultry gaze. She was supposed to be with me. She was supposed to be mine. She was supposed to love me.

I wanted to crush his hands that were gliding across the keys of the portable piano. I’m supposed to play for my nymph. I’m supposed to join my voice with hers. I’m supposed to be beside her always.

As the credits rolled, I hungrily searched for the name of my nymph. There!

Kristen Stewart as Tracy Tatro !

I took deep gulps of breath as I silently chanted my nymph’s name. Who was she? Where was she? I have to find her.

**********

I almost sank to my knees when I saw her. My nymph. My nymph was here in the room with me.

I had gone to the Twilight audition for the Edward Cullen role. And she was Bella. My nymph was going to be Bella

After the excitement of discovery, I despaired. I did not have the qualities called for to be Edward Cullen

I focused on the moment and the wreck that I was with the thought that my nymph was going to slip through my fingers. I wanted to laugh hysterically. To be so near what I desired the most yet for her to be wrenched from my illusory grasp was maddening.

Robert Pattinson Contradicts Himself Robert Pattinson tells 15 a 20 Magazine that he did not know that it was Kristen Stewart playing Bella Swan in the Twilight audition.

“The character has these amazing physical qualities that are impossible to have: he has a great body, he’s gorgeous. So I thought they were going to say to me “No, thank you, next”. Honestly I went to the audition without preparing. I didn’t know the lines or anything and Kristen was there. I didn’t know she was going to be Bella. She was very strong as Bella in the audition, so that gave me a clue as to how to play the character.”

However, in his interview with Marc Malkin of E! Robert Pattinson declares he went into the audition to meet Kristen Stewart after seeing the talented actress in Into the Wild

“I was embarrassed going into the casting because in the character breakdown, the first line is, ‘Edward is the ideal perfect man,’ ” he said. “I literally put it off for five months and then I went in mainly because I had seen Into the Wild and I wanted to meet Kristen because I thought she was cool. But I felt like an idiot being like, “Hi, I’m here for the ideal man audition.“

For dramatic purposes of this post, there are two assumptions:
1) Robert Pattinson first saw Kristen Stewart in the film Into the Wild
2) Robert Pattinson did not know that Kristen Stewart was going to be at the Twilight audition.

Into the Wild Sequences The reactions and desires that Robert Pattinson felt for the “nymph” are based on scenes that Kristen Stewart had with Emile Hirsch in the movie Into the Wild, which I saw for the first time on HBO Philippines on 14 July 2009.

Knowing what the ending was always dissuaded me from watching the movie, but, I wanted to see what Robert Pattinson saw when he said he watched Kristen Stewart in Into the Wild and thought she was “the best actress of her generation.”

I thought it would be romantic if Robert Pattinson “fell” for Kristen Stewart at first sight, albeit, onscreen.

Hi, these diaries are amazing! you’re a very good story teller! :) )

  • Kristen Says:

I also heard that he went to the audition because he wanted to meet Kristen Stewart after he saw her in the movie.

  • Kristen Says:

I also heard that in one of his Interviews that he saw her in the Movie Into the wild and wanted to meet her.

  • Amanda Says:

Sometimes he contradicts himself when it comes to Kristen. Like with the proposal thing, he admitted it at first then he said he didn’t remember. Maybe he feels more uncomfortable saying the truth because he has real feelings for her??

  • lola Says:

Ok so everybody was like why did they picked robert pattinson to play edward cullen ?? We all know that kristen was the one who said ok thats the guy … i would like 2 think that she also saw him in a movie lets say harry potter… and she wanted him 2 … like they already said , was it fate? …. hahaha :p

  • Isabel Says:

Awww that is sad, it almost made me cry :-( I’ve never seen that movie, I should see it.

  • TeamEdward101 Says:

    CUUUUUUUUTE….. and sad….;)

  • twilight Says:

    Thanks, francesca! :)

And, Isabel and TeamEdward101, I didn’t mean to make it sad though. But, I read it again and it can be sorrowful, and, if you continue reading to next part of the story, The Robert Pattinson Diaries — The Soul Draining Kiss of Kristen Stewart, it’s gonna get worse.

And, yes, I also think it’s fate. They were destined to meet at this moment in their lives, and they have the choice to embrace it and go into the wild… ;)

hi lorna, so cool you gave the movie a chance, even if you knew the ending. i had mixed feelings about ITW (mostly because of Chris’ choices) but it grew on me and it has become one of my favorites. KStew fans should not miss it. K’s singing is different, otherwordly, maybe yes borrowing your term ‘nymph-like’ there. there’s something so pure and honest about it. and i am not surprised at all if Rob fell in love at first sight in that film with her. she was just..mesmerizing. anyway this is getting long, love the movie and Sean Penn’s dedication for it. It’s very powerful and thought-provoking. And K’s presence there is the proverbial ‘icing on the cake’.

  • Isabel Says:

I said it’s sad (for me at least) because in the story above, Rob is pining for her and she’s with someone else. So close and yet so far away :-( . It’s a beautiful story! You know when you want someone so much it almost hurts, KWIM? I could feel his longing, the pain in his heart watching K with someone else. In a way maybe I was relating a little that’s why it made me sad.

  • luvrobsten Says:

yeah i was having the same feeling as isabel..ever since i knew rob has a crush on ks but she got a bf back then..so so sad..that’s why i became a shipper at the first place…i felt like i could how rob felt..to love someone who was resistant or hesitate to be with you…i could feel his pain…and i’m sooooo glad ks is with rob now…i’m happy if rob hapy and sad if he’s sad…love him so…

    Hello Lorna and everyone…

    1. Contradicts.
One, maybe he IS contradicting when it comes to KS. Two, maybe he DID, did not know that KS herself will be there to audition. So, agree

    2. Rob Audition. Just for fun.
KS said that there were 4 guys. Guess what, prior audition, Rob drank his Portable Polyjuice Potion, and went…a lil ‘corruptive’:

See ya in other posts, guys.
    Keep it up Lorna.
