Taylor Lautner Confirmed as Jacob Black in New Moon
New Moon director Chris Weitz confirms that Taylor Lautner will be reprising his role as Jacob Black on Stephenie Meyer’s website:
I’m very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he’s doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.
The characters in Stephenie’s books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.

I think whoever doesn’t put Taylor Lautner in the movie is mental! I mean he is the perfect person to play it was exactly how i imagined it! Even bella and edward are perfect. i think this cast is the best cast to be put in the movie!

i love so much taylor and i think Taylor is perfect for the role of Jacob Black ….. which is such as I had imagined .. just as cute and happy ^ ^ I love him …. I think that is the most perfect within the role … more even than Robert Pattinson in the role of edward …

Thank god he’s plaaying Jacob. I’m more of an Edward/Rob Fan, but i still enjoy all the characters. I really think that he is best for the role because jacob is just a kid, even though he goes through big changes in the book( and soon to be movie) I think that if you got a different actor it would ruin the movie and the image of jacob that we all got from twilight and the twilight series. I hope that they get as close to all the books as possible and keep all the original actors in the later productions.
The only thing that I can’t get out of my head is that he played Sharkboy in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Crazy. He’s changed so much. I hope that he has a successfull career and is always happy. Same to the rest of the twilight series cast.
