Stop Making Robert Pattinson Just Eye Candy

A large chunk of the reason why people are so charmed by Robert Pattinson can be discerned when he opens his mouth, because his answers to questions are laced with wit, self-deprecation and honesty.

Although I am thankful for the glimpses of the Twilight vampire while shooting Remember Me, I have not read or listened to a decent Robert Pattinson interview for almost a couple of months. I think the last time I heard him speak intimately in a one-on-one scenario with a reporter was during the Thea Andrews Entertainment Tonight exclusive features.

And, even if Robert Pattinson will be part of the New Moon Comic Con panel, and, will likely answer some questions, those interludes will surely be marked by excited screams. Sifting through the screams for his responses is something that I don’t want to subject my ears to really.

I was looking forward to the Comic Con backstage interviews because they are usually one on one, and, Rob is understandably discombobulated by the whole experience that his guard goes down a little bit more. I still remember his likening the 2008 Comic Con as going into the “gates of hell.” :D

The news that, aside from the Comic Con panel interviews, there will be no Comic Con backstage interviews partially reduces the Twilight heartthrob to being eye candy for a few more weeks, I guess, a state that makes one even envious of a stone statue that is the recipient of some decent humorous conversation with Robert Pattinson

My favorite interview was the one when he was at the Ellen show! Everything was new back then with him and he’s just so hilarious! Someone asked him what would be a perfect date and Rob said: “to be honest, a DATE would be perfect!” LOL.
