You might start asking what’s in a name after realizing that two names sound eerily alike and are both involved with vampires, namely, Stephenie Meyer and Stephen Moyer
Stephenie Meyer is an author who wrote a series of books, The Twilight Saga, about a vampire in love with a human, while, Stephen Moyer is an actor who plays a vampire in love with a human in the HBO series True Blood.
The Twilight Saga tells of the struggles of mortal Bella Swan to be with the one true love of her life – vampire Edward Cullen. Similarly, True Blood traces the tribulations of “star-crossed lovers Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a small-town girl who falls in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).”
The second season of HBO’s True Blood is set to air on 14 June 2009.

I haven’t seen True Blood but I’ve been following the Sookie Stackhouse series, though I’ve only read Dead Until Dark and Living Dead in Dallas. I saw the picture you posted from the show and I was dissapointed to see Bill
, sorry. I had pictured Bill to look very handsome. Now I’m curious to see who plays Eric Northman.

yeah..i saw the series…its a bit weird since it has closely alike with twilight…but more brutal and vampirish with a lot of S*X…its like the adult version of twilight.

I like the series, and I adore it.
Sookie is a very cool girl, and his vampire is very manly and sexy, so I like it, and yeah, Amerah, this is the adult and hard-core version of Twilight, but It’s really good, too.

I just watched some of the True Blood show on youtube and I was dismayed how some people were bashing Twilight and Stephenie Meyer, calling her a plagiarist and stuff.

Aye right, sure there are similarities but not the same. I like True Blood despite what other people think of it. If somebody wanted to write about vampires, the book would immediately be compared to Twilight cause it’s one of the better known vampire tales.

I have read all the Sookie Stackhouse books (it gets old around the 6th one). There are really not that many similarities in the two series, beside the obvious *VAMPIRES*, and a love story……. Other than that- no similarities…… in SS vamps dont come out in the day, or they die, they are ‘out of the closet’ so-to-speak, and all vamps drink synthetic blood- no human hunting is allowed….Nope, no similarities! And…. i dont think it ws nearly as good as Twilight!!

I adore true blood!!! Season threes is freaking me out. When Sam had that nightmare of kissing with Bill I died! What’s up with that vampire queen anyways? Kind of scary huh? I hope Eric doesn’t really assist her. My favorite show on hbo for sure!
