He is right, but not all writers have to be good. I look at her work as a product, not as art. She appeals to young girls and weak women.
He character, Bella, is weak and disempowered. Ms. Meyer has a lot of experience among weak and disempowered women. She is [from Latter Day Saints or] LDS. I went to BYU also, and it was a culture shock to swim in such a sea of weak women. The LDS culture is very effective at distroying it's womens' spirits. Very domesticated and tame. Like her books, I suppose this works for some females.

No offense, but Stephen King is so right. J.K. Rowling has the different writing skill to engage people in reading her book. Twilight is too, but there's just something wrong with it.

I like Stephen King and I've read so many of his books, mostly the older ones. It's a different style of writing than Stephenie Meyer's. I'm dissapointed with Stephen King's comment and arrogance. I think he should have kept these comments to himself.

I totally agree with you, Kylie, that Stephen King does have a point. That's why I decided to put his opinion on my blog.

I do admire and greatly respect Stephen King. My running joke with regards to his work is that they're so good I can never finish one. I have attempted several times to read his work, but my imagination, while reading his scary books, goes amok, and I get too frightened to continue. LOL

But, he does have the non-macabre ones, which shows the breadth and width of this talented man.

firstly i absolutely LOVE the twilight saga. but i can kind of see where stephen king is coming from where he said its because a whole generation of tweens has become obsessed with the whole love and sex idea that has made it famous. twilight isnt the most life changing classical book out there but its still got all the elements that have girls going crazy!
