Universal Pictures has announced that it’s moving the Snow White and the Huntsman opening earlier by six months, making it a contender for the 2012 summer season.
[The] “epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman will make a bold move into the early summer movie season with its new release date of June 1, 2012.”
Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth has been confirmed as the Huntsman, and, I’m guessing that Snow White and the Huntsman filming will start as soon as the Australian actor wraps his Avengers shoot.
“Chris Hemsworth has signed up to play the male lead in Snow White And The Huntsman. The Australian actor can currently be seen in Marvel superhero blockbuster Thor and will reprise the role in The Avengers, which has just started shooting.”

I was hoping that it would be Hugh Jackman (love that guy!); would be very interesting to see him along side Kristen
Haven’t seen Thor yet…maybe Chris Hemsworth is not that bad…but I still prefer Hugh.

Chris Hemsworth confirmed he’s official on board SWATH @ChrisHems_worth Just thought I’d let you all know that it’s official i have the role ‘ Snow White and the Huntsman’
I forgot who made the comment that having Hemsworth as Hunstmen might be a bit interesting for they might play a love triangle. It’s a different story have it been Viggo or Hugh for SW’s fascination may border a simple crush and non-threatening while with Hemsworth, he could be the prince’s competition. We do not know if the script is final but who knows a bit of tweak and there is still possible.
