When I first read about Robert Pattinson not being included in the New Moon Comic Con backstage interviews, I dismissed it as rubbish. However, I learn a couple of days later from ROBsessed that it’s from Variety, a veritable institution in the entertainment industry, and, I had to concede it might be actually true.
Thursday’s crazy madness will be the Twilight: New Moon panel. Heartthrob Rob Pattinson will appear (reminder: must pack earplugs) with co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner and director Chris Weitz, but lovelorn vampire Edward Cullen isn’t the main character in the movie, so Pattinson won’t participate in any backstage interviews.
I understand there is a need to build up Taylor Lautner because of the immense popularity of Robert Pattinson, but, to exclude the person that has contributed to the humongous success of the Twilight franchise is just mad!
Call it instead a publicity maneuver to manage over exposure and to fan Robert Pattinson fever with partial absence, and it might sound more credible than relegating him to the corner like some irksome minor character.

Yes I think this is bologney…he’s the star you know! I bet 90 of people watching it would watch it because of Rob. No offense to the Team Jacob people.

I meant 90 % of people…whew sorry.

Jacob (Taylor) can not carry these movies. Most everyone wants to see Edward and Bella not Jacob. I find [Taylor] to be boring in interviews. But I do think maybe Rob needs a break.

“Edward Cullen isn’t the main character in the movie”
oh,thats too bad
disappointed

I don’t think Edward is not the main character, I think he is. Because he is there, all of the book, in Bella’s head, in Bella’s mind, in Bella’s thought. Jacob could do everything, Bella loves Edward not him. Bella needs Edwards love not his. Jacob is a boy like your friend or brother… not boyfriend. I don’t say he is not main character. He is, but Edward’s too.
That’s why I don’t understand the reason. I think Summit makes a mistake. Big mistake.

Edward is not a main character in NM? B*LLSH*T! Sorry for the language guys but it is just so frustating! And Rob is not included in backstage interviews? Why does Summit always have to ruin the fun for us? Uggggh! And here I was hoping to see more interviews of Rob and Kris together (and a lot of other people)! This just made my day.
Thanks for informing us Lorna even though it is a sad news.

There’s still the panel interviews.
July 22nd, 2009 at 8:07 pm
Yup, there’s still the panel interviews.
I hope Kris and Rob are seated next to each other.
Bring on those intimate conversations they share which frustrate us all, because we don’t know what they’re saying.

Good, that he’s not interviewing, he has not done a interview that I can understand a d—mn thing he’s saying anyway. Stephanie Meyers is a great writer and I love her. To bad the media and tabloids and FANS have turned the actors and the movie into who’s the Bigger Stud!!! Just keep adding the drama and s—x gossip and anybody will go see the [movie]. No matter who’s in it or not Rob, Taylor who cares. The Press things was c—p! What is the movie about again……you got me no one wanted to keep the questions about the movie.

Oh, my goodness! It’s the end of the world. Robert Pattinson can’t do a backstage interview. And we actually have to focus on the other cast members! Who the h—l cares, to be honest I can’t understand half the stuff he says anyways.

It’s so lame having to sit through so many boring Anime. Like 85% of Anime are either Drama, or Ecchi. What happened to all the good Mecha Anime being made in the late 90s/early 2000s? It’s so depressing having to plow through Anime you hate, trying to find Anime you do, and even then, it’s so rare, you end up settling for the “meh” stuff anyway. (Possibly because of lack of decent Anime)
