Robert Pattinson Up for Second Official Jeff Buckley Biopic

According to E!, there is a second Jeff Buckley biopic that has not yet finished casting. Moreover, this untitled film has the approval of the Buckley family, thus, anointed as the “official” version by E! The film producers have admitted that they have met with Robert Pattinson, and, consequently, have also revealed some interesting details about the Jeff Buckley biopic.
- The director of the official Jeff Buckley film is Welcome to the Rileys director Jake Scott. (Not that it matters, but, Rob and Jake must have already met before the talks cum auditions through Kristen.)
- The actor chosen to play Jeff Buckley has to display comedic skills because the real-life Jeff Buckley is a “goofball.” (I think Rob is also a goofball in real life, but, in his own way.)
- The producers would prefer to cast an unknown. (Urm, Rob is definitely not an unknown.)
- Casting for the role of Jeff Buckley’s girlfriend is dependent on who’s cast as Jeff Buckley. (So, if Rob is cast, will Kristen Stewart be considered? Methinks not. Their reel and real life relationship may overshadow the project.)

Rob’s good and all, but just this once I really don’t want them to cast him as Jeff Buckley. For some reason I just cannot see it. It’d be cool to see Kristen in it because this seems like her kind of movie whether she’s the girlfriend or not, but either way, I’d like to see another actor playing him. Of it has to be a known actor, I don’t mind Penn Badgley or James Franco, but I also wouldn’t mind a relatively unknown actor who is fits all the criteria. I guess we’ll see.

This is awful. If there’s anyone less like Jeff in the acting world, it’s Robert Goddamn Pattinson. Jeff and I met once after a show he played in Memphis, and it would take somebody who can at least ACT to play him. Such a complex man. This is disheartening, knowing that the hype machine turned a mediocre actor into such a superstar. Not only that, but the only people who can stand him are twelve year olds who have never heard of Jeff Buckley. It’s a sad day in rock & roll as well as filmmaking. Let the poor guy rest without being insulted. Jeeze, Hollywood.
