Robert Pattinson Keeps Ties with Kristen Stewart BFF Nikki Reed

In the 20 December 2008 images that show a checkered shirt clad Robert Pattinson, with his clean-cut hairdo, and stowing boxes in his car, there is a slight detail that greatly excites me.

Rob went shopping for boxes with Twilight co-star Nikki Reed.

The importance of this is the fact that Nikki Reed has closely bonded with Kristen Stewart, and the pair has been spotted in LA shopping (around 17 December 2008) even after majority of the Twilight press junket has wrapped. In an exclusive About.com interview, Nik says, “Kristen and I are best friends.”

In an interview with E!, Nikki Reed says glowingly about Robert Pattinson, “What all these girls may not know is that he’s an avid reader; he’s really intelligent and he writes beautifully. I know he’s really beautiful to look at, but Rob’s a lot more complicated than that, and there’s a lot more to him.”

So what is exciting for me is the possibility that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson may indirectly get updated about each other through Nikki Reed until shooting for New Moon commences on March 2009. Here’s a couple of imaginary conversations:

Nikki: Guess who I saw the other day?
Kristen: Who?
Nikki: Rob. I helped him get some boxes because he’s moving to a new apartment. But he’s going to put his stuff in storage first because he’s planning to spend the holidays in London. Then he’ll be back in LA to shoot Parts Per Billion.
Kristen: That’s nice.

– OR –

Nikki: So when do you start shooting Parts Per Billion?
Rob: In January.
Nikki: Me and Kristen are shooting K-11 around the same time. Why don’t you drop by when you’re free? Kristen’s mom is writing and directing it. Maybe you can even do a cameo or something. Or let’s just hang out on the set.
Rob: Sure. Sounds cool.
