Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Make Me Watch Movies I Don’t Normally Watch

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Made Me Watch Into the Wild Previously, I wrote in another post:

Knowing what the ending was always dissuaded me from watching the movie [Into the Wild], but, I wanted to see what Robert Pattinson saw when he said he watched Kristen Stewart in Into the Wild and thought she was “the best actress of her generation.”

Robert Pattinson Will Make Me Watch Remember Me From the title alone you can already tell Remember Me has undertones of tragedy that will most likely end on a profound but unhappy uplifting note.

Remember Me is one movie that, if you truly wish to show your support for The Twilight Saga star, you must watch repeatedly, i.e. even if you hate it, you will still watch it again and again, unless you want to see Robert Pattinson splattered like some hapless roadkill.

Kristen Stewart Will Make me Watch Adventureland ATwilightKiss reader and Kristen Stewart fan Kristine has sent me an email.

“Adventureland” will be exclusively shown at Glorietta 4 and Greenbelt 3. It opens on 22 July 2009.

And, can you please also share (for those who were asking why the New Moon poster was “removed” from display in Glorietta) that the poster was not taken down. It was just moved beside Cinema 3 (near taters).

I’m pleasantly surprised that Adventureland will be shown in Manila Philippines. I thought it would not be marketable enough, to be honest. However, they’re promoting it on the basis of the Twilight star’s name alone, “If you haven’t fallen in love with Kristen Stewart yet, this (movie) will make you!”

Honestly, Into the Wild, Remember Me and Adventureland are films that I’m perfectly willing to wait for to come on cable TV; and, even when they come on, there’s still a huge possibility that I will not make the effort to see these films.

However, the notion of watching and supporting Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart encourage me to watch these movies that I normally would not watch. So, I guess, it will be off to Adventureland next week. Are you watching, Kristine? :)

I sat through two entire hours of Into The Wild just to see what the heck Rob and Kristen were talking about. And I must say, I was surprised that I actually enjoyed it. I watched it twice because for one reason, it was a good movie; and second, I was too anxious to see Kristen’s role that I could barely control myself from fast forwarding through the rest of the movie (haha. who cares about supertramp?).

  • robyn Says:

hi lorna. LOL to this post. oh how these two have become so influential, we almost don’t notice the ‘extent’.

Re Adventureland. I have seen the movie (it’s circulating in the net and I couldn’t just wait for the dvd. didn’t know it will be released here) their marketing of it “If you haven’t fallen in love with Kristen Stewart yet, this (movie) will make you!” is wise and fortunately true because Kristen really carried this movie (apart from Jesse). And she’s so good in it. And sooo beautiful even if she was dressed in casuals. You’ll enjoy it!

  • Vic01 Says:

Thurday night I have watched Little Ashes… guys… I loved it. It was the best movie I have seen in the last five years… it was fantastic, enjoyable, emotional… since I saw it first time, I want to watch it again and again. There are no words how fantastic were Rob and Javier (Beltrán in this movie. :-)
(I don’t know I’d buy it or not if it is not Robert’s film…)

I like Into The Wild, I bought in DVD. And yes, I bought it because of Kristen. And I didn’t mind it. :-)

  • elisa Says:

We had to watch Little Ashes and How to be for school, and normaly i wouldnt have watched those films, but i did anyways, and i found myself enjoying those movies. they are pretty amazing and beyond most films.

  • Chi Says:

So sweetie, do we have a movie date on July 22 in Greenbelt 3 for the Adventureland premiere here in Manila?

    Yay! See you sweetie!

  • twilight Says:

Sure, Chi! Hey, anybody else based in Metro Manila who wants to join in? Let’s have an eye ball! :)

  • lola Says:

  • Isabel Says:

I’m curious so yes I’d like to see Into the Wild too and maybe Adventureland, when it comes to Redbox or Netflix. What I’ve been really wanting to see is Haunted Airman. I saw bits and pieces of it on Youtube. I want to see more movies with Rob in it. Oh and there’s one he’s in called something like Handbook of Bad Mothers, I can’t remember the exact title but he’s only in it for a little bit. He looks like a complete dork in it but underneath the dorky clothes and acting he still looks hot and sexy!

  • Filinvest 2 QC Says:

Just watch Into The Wild this am and really love Kristen in this film. How I wish I can go to Glorietta to see Adventureland. Lorna, I’ve been reading your ATK for some time and I really think you’re a brilliant writer. More power!

  • twilight Says:

Thanks so much, filinvest 2 qc! It also sounds like you really live far away. Anyway, Chi is gonna check out the time and I’ll post which screening we’ll catch on 22 July 2009 so that it’s an open invite to anybody who’s interested. :)

And, for those who saw Into the Wild, didn’t you think Robert Pattinson would have been perfect for the role (no offense meant Emile) with his own love for books, his tendency for solitude and an intellectual’s need for answers? Aside from the fact that he gets to work with Kristen Stewart, of course. ;)

  • twilight Says:

Hello Metro Manila based ATK readers! Chi passed by Greenbelt 3 and they said they will release the screening schedule the day before, but, Chi has advised that, in her experience, there’s usually a screening around 6.30pm. Send me an email at llornalopez[at]gmail[dot[com] if you wish to get my mobile number. Anyway, I’ll post the time and final details on 21 July 2009. Hope to see you 22 July 2009 Wednesday! :D

  • Robsten_thai Says:

I Love her in “Speak”. Yes, Absolutely yes, cause of Kristen. This is a good movie which she shown the power in her while she was 13 years old.

“The film is told through Melinda’s eyes and is wrought with her sardonic humor and blunt honesty.”

  • Filinvest 2 QC Says:

I envy you guys. I bet watching Adventureland with fellow Kristenites will be an awesome experience.Hmm, my obligation as a wife and mother hinders me from going, add the fact that my hubby is some kind of KJ.I don’t want to fuel his suspicion that I’m obsessed with Kristen. Why can’t it be shown at SM north Edsa? Anyway, I’ll be happy to read here your comments after watching the movie. It’ll be as if I watched the same with you considering how detailed and excellent story teller Lorna is when writing.

Into the wild i thought was good, but not amazing, though i loved kristen’s singing.
    xx

  • katiee Says:

ahhh. so i dragged my friend along with me to see adventureland (cuz of kristen obviously…and well ryan reynolds but thats beside the point lol) and i was actually surprised it was a HILARIOUS and great movie. and then i saw that The Messengers was on tv. that was seriously one of the best movies ive ever seen. so i went out and rented it and watched like 4 more times LOL. kristen was soooo good in that movie (:

  • mayhemonte Says:

    Hey Lorna and everyone…

Well, I don’t know what kind of movies that I don’t normally watch, I think I normally watch any movies, that is readily available to watch. LOL.

    Anyway.
    I’ve seen bits of Adventureland.
I’ve seen bits of Into The Wild.
I know both are of completely different genre.
But I prefer Into the Wild anytime.

I know this is a hasty comment, I haven’t watch it completely just FFWD.
The movie is just epic. (Ah, well for me at least, LOL). I think that’s what they call: ‘cinematography’; it is just breathtaking. The angles of the camera, the coloring, Kristen’s natural beauty, Emile’s marvellous..no, ASTOUNDING acting, just blew me away.
(Angles of the camera? What am I talkin bout? LOL)

I think I kinda understand how Rob praised KS in this particular movie. This movie is like everyman’s (most of, I think, LOL) dream come true. The adventure, adventure, adventure…and it’s not at all lame.

Adventureland. Hm… I dunno. Don’t get me wrong. I like comedy like heaven. I have to watch Adv. completely before commenting. I seriously need to defragment my brain, cos I haven’t heard myself laughing when doing FFWD on the film. LOL.

See ya in other comments, guys.
    Keep it up, Lorna.

*off to peacefully watch Into The Wild*

  • rosie Says:

I’ve seen ‘Into The Wild’ and I loved Kristen’s performance in it even though it was short…I enjoyed the whole movie too. I wanted to watch ‘Adventureland’ so most probably will buy the DVD. As I’ve seen more of Kristen’s movies than Rob’s, honestly I’m a bigger fan of Kris so I’m not sure that I’ll be watching Remember Me…altho I do wanna watch Little Ashes, How To Be and The Haunted Airman.
