Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene as Edward Cullen and Bella Swan
Aside from the Kristen Stewart – Jackson Rathbone tandem, another possible Edward Cullen and Bella Swan combination was revealed by The Twilight Saga starlet Ashley Greene as she was interviewed for the Saturday Night Magazine October 2009 issue.
I originally auditioned for Bella, and so I read the first book and kind of fell in love with it. I went in and auditioned and actually they called me back in and said, “No, you’re not right for Bella,” so I was bummed, and then they brought me back for Alice.
I worked more on it – that was all I did for a couple of days before I went in. I came in probably like five times before I actually got the role – and then I went home for Christmas and literally just had to wait and wait. I thought that I didn’t get it again, and then I got the call that I was Alice and I freaked out and called my dad and mom.
[Twilight] was really my first film where I had a bigger part and was a studio thing – I was nervous. I think I was more nervous than most of the cast because it was my first thing.

I love them both but I don’t think ashley would have been the right person to play Bella. And so is Jackson Rathbone for Edward. I like Ashley as Alice.

I don’t think Rob would be Edward though because he says he only auditioned because Kristen was involved. It would have been weird if Ashley was Bella and Jackson was Edward! I wonder if it would be as popular without Kristen and Rob..

Jackson auditioned for Edward, he got Jasper
Ashley auditioned for Bella, she got Alice
oh well i love this couple. One more thing, it’s like they’re fated for jasper and alice roll.

Catherine Hardwick is truly one of the best match-makers in the world! And yeah Ashley and Jackson are my second fave couple after Rob and Kris

Yeah, Robert was mainly interested in the part because of Kristen in the first place. Also, the reason he got the part was because of the chemistry between him and Kristen. Either way, if Bella hadn’t been Kristen, I don’t think Rob would have been Edward and I just can’t imagine two people more perfect for the role.

Well you can forget Robert being Edward if Ashley was ever Bella. He went to audition because of Kristen, now I know sometimes he altered his reasons for auditioning for the part, but we all know he went because of Kristen.
:):) He would have tried for something else that Kristen would have tried for.
If Kristen didn’t get the part, I am very sure, Rob wouldn’t have gone for the Edward role.
I don’t exactly know that,

ashley and jackson are perfect together but not as bella and edward. it’s just doens’t fit their character plus their chemistry won’t be as dynamite as rob and kristen.
can you imagine – jackson + ashley = jashley. that would sound so uncool and weird.
robsten fits more – i love them !

Not saying that Kristen is not pretty but Ashley is too pretty and classy to be Bella Swan. Bella was supposed to be the girl next door type.

Oh well.For me Ashley is not passable as Bella because she is just pretty for me not gorgeous like Kristen Stewart. Common- Ashley is great as Alice but as Bella-I don’t think so.She’s a little bit muscular while Kstew may be “tomboyish” in her manners which I prefer by the way than the “girly/girly type” but Kristen has very fine and feminine features. She’s naturally thin so I think she does not need to work out like Ashley to maintain her weight.It’s just that the heroin should be gorgeous and sexy like Kstew.That’s why Ashley was not picked because she does not fit the character.Remember-in the books Bella is actually beautiful but she thinks she is not.I mean she does not see herself that way and that fits Kstew. Almost all Hollywood actresses have undergone plastic surgery to enhance their breasts and butts,fix their noses,etc that’s why they really look great but as for Kstew,she has a natural beauty.She looks perfect already.Her breasts maybe small but it’s just right for her very slim body and at least ….they’re natural not store bought.
