I think they have used make-up to give his body the white marble look his character is meant to have and then shadowed the hollows to highlight the musculature. Personally I prefer the long lean toned look to the bulky body builder look favoured by Hollywood. At least Rob has a beautiful column of a neck and not one that disappears into his shoulders!!!
