Real Life Romantic Couple Proves True Love
Ironically, it took a tragedy to illustrate that true love still exists in this world.
A couple in Iowa who had been married for 72 years was involved in an accident that landed them both in the intensive care unit with grievous injuries. Despite their physical state, all they could do was to inquire about the other’s health as they lay on their beds.
When it became clear that death was imminent, the separated couple was brought back together into one room. As they awaited their fate, Gordon and Norma Yeager had the comfort of holding hands.
Sadly, 94-year-old Gordon Yeager passed away in the afternoon of that day, followed by 90-year-old Norma an hour later, still with their hands clasped.
This strong bond was honored by their family as they requested the funeral home if they could be put in the same casket so that they could continue holding hands. Afterward, their cremated remains were merged so that they would still be joined in burial.
