Petition for Rachelle Lefevre Return to The Twilight Saga Eclipse

Official Statement What I thought was the decision of Rachelle Lefevre to leave The Twilight Saga turned out to be an edict from Summit Entertainment that “hurt deeply” the amiable actress. Rachelle Lefevre released her official statement to Access Hollywood
“I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria. I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules.
“My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for ‘Eclipse.’ Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap.
“I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.
“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate.
“I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best.”
Rachelle Lefevre On a more personal note, Rachelle Lefevre sent a thank you note to her fans through her twitter account
“I am so touched by all your responses and feel incredibly blessed to have fans like you. From the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU.”

That is so sad. Rachelle has the right to plead her case. Bryce hasn’t invested on the character yet so this won’t be that hard on her. And I want to think she’s mature enough to accept that Rachelle has been embraced by the fans as The Victoria for the saga.
Summit has got to learn to listen and compromise with their talents. Otherwise this will backfire on them. Business is not just about money, it’s about people first.
Rachelle must feel like a rug has been pulled under her. In relationships, whether personal or business, one cannot just “drop” the other like a hobby one can get rid off anytime. You’re dealing with a person here. So they should be fair and give the respect due the person.
Summit has already been reckless (by announcing the hiring of Bryce) but they can still undo this damage. They must.

That’s sad. I really like Rachel and I wish she could stay on to finish the Twilight saga. It just happened so fast, she was there at Comic Con. When was this decided?
I’ll give Bryce a chance of course, I’m sure she’ll be fine and hopefully she won’t be harassed but I would love for Rachel to be Victoria again.

I think people just need to calm down.. Don’t blame Howard.. it’s not her fault.. don’t bash her.. and Lefevre made a decision and so did Summit.. The movie will still be made.. and we will all enjoy it no matter who plays Victoria..
I wonder if you read the statement from Summit from this morning.. It seems like no one can figure out who’s fault it is..

i don’t think anyone is bashing bryce, but it’s pretty unfair that rachelle has made the charactor so good and now she loses it. i mean catherine hardwicke says on the dvd extras disc that they had to cram scenes in so cam could go off and do another project why can’t rachelle be given some prffesional courtesy to.

Rachelle fit Bella’s describtion of Victoria in the books perfectly! The new actress just doesn’t cut it. Victoria is described as feral, and cat-like with flaming red hair. Rachelle fills Victoria’s role great, but the new actress only has red hair, but not the other traits.

As a Twilight fan (thank to the movie), Rachelle was the one character that I was really excited to see more of and I think Rachelle as Victoria is the only way to go. She brings maturity to the cast and to the vampire clan- something I find a necessity to reach out to the entire fan base.

First of all, I dont want to bash on Howard in anyway what so ever. I’ve never seen any of her work but i have no doubt in my mind that she is a talented actress. I’m sure she could probably pull off the role of Victoria but as a fan if i don’t see Rachelle as Victoria in Eclipse the whole vibe, the whole story, the imaginary world of twilight just won’t be the same. It will spoil everything.
When every twilight fan thinks of Victoria we see Rachelle. Imagine if you replace Robert from the role of Edward with some other actor, (i know Victoria’s character isn’t as important as rob’s but it’s a reasonable example)it just wouldn’t be the same.
I hope Summit reconsiders their decision. It has nothing to do with Howard but we just want OUR Victoria back the REAL and ONLY Victoria. She has worked for this role and the main movie where her character finally gets the chance of a main role where Rachelle can really show us her skills as an actress she gets banished.
I just don’t believe it’s fair. I really hope Rachelle will play Victoria in Eclipse. I know if when i go to see Eclipse and i don’t see Rachelle it won’t be the same anymore, the whole effect will be ruined.
Please give her her role back! She deserves it!
We as fans know what we want for the movie and we want Rachelle. Isn’t the whole point of these movies to please the fans? If so, right now they are headed the wrong way. Sorry to be harsh but i’m just saying the truth.

I think Rachelle portrayed the PERFECT Victoria. It really upsets me that they would kick her out for ta matter of 10 days out of 3 months. I really love the twilight saga without Rachelle the movie Eclipse is going to be really hard to watch because thats exactly how I saw Victoria while reading the book. I hope this comment makes a difference and that she might get the role back.

I think they have the option and the right to cast whoever they want. If she knew there would be a conflict why did she do it? I think Bryce will be okay as Victoria and we don’t need to get all crazy like the Jacob fans (which I think is totally over the top them saying they would smash Twilight Fans over something as stupid as Taylor might not come back as Jacob, as if it would be our fault). On my final note I’ll just say if you love “The Twilight Saga” then you’ll love it no matter who plays Victoria.

This is sad. This is what happens to “smaller name” actors. They can get crushed. I signed the petition, but I think we will sadly miss Rachelle, because I believe Summit will win on this one. Personally, she is a better Victoria — she has “Victoria” written all over her…the looks, the natural hair–she is just “the Victoria” vampire. Fans will feel that when the last two Sagas eventually come out. And what if Bryce Dallas cannot fulfill the last saga? Bryce Dallas belongs to a ‘movie industry family’ I am sure she will be very smart in signing her contract. Summit is wrong is doing this. I just hope that screen-presence-wise, Bryce will turn out right for the part. It does not mean that because you are good actress you are right for the part.

I really think that Rachelle should be reinstated as Victorioria. One, she plays a slammin’ Victoria that’s believeable and very convincing. Another thing, I can’t stand it when someone has to replace the first actor that played a character in the first movie. It gets annoying and down right frustrating. Besides, Victoria is Rachelle’s character. She has worked and put a lot of time and effort to bring out the Victoria we all know and love and or hate. So I say, Please, Summit, put Rachelle as Victoria and make Eclipse the absolute best that will leave all fans screaming from anticipation!

This will ruin the movie franchise. These are well loved books by millions. Continuity is key with books like these and so many devoted fans. Does Summit think we are gullible that we don’t mind you putting a whole new person in a role that has been established. What do you think, they both have red hair so we don’t care.
I can’t believe Stephenie not speaking out against this. They are treating her novel like a silly soap opera and her fans with complete disrespect. You (Summit) hired Rachelle. You put made her the version of Victoria in our heads. The casting is done. You can’t replace her with another actress. And replace her over a 10 day dispute. I can understand that the movies aren’t going to follow the books exactly. I thought Twilight should have been alot closer to the text but you did capture the emotion pretty well for film and the soundtrack made up for the rest.
You may not have have signed a contract but us, the fans of the Twilight books trusted you to capture on film what we were evisioning in our heads while we read these wonderful books. Switching actresses like this ruins all continuity, is disrespectful to fans who were expecting you to treat this material with respect. You gave us Rachelle. She is Victoria to us. You can’t change that. Any seen with Bryce playing her will feel fake and uncomfortable.
I won’t watch it. I’m sure I’m not alone. I had faith in you but this kills it. Just stick to making cheesy tween movies where your characters are so underwritten they can be interchangeable. I hope the money your saving is worth the loss in box office receipt. Yeah, us adult, mature fans, the ones with jobs and money and mothers of the pretweens that haven’t read the books but want to see it because Rob Pattz is sooooo cute want to see a quality film.
I think your taking a huge risk with what is your main fanbase for the last two films. I’m not going to see Bryce play Victoria. I don’t see movies that are so bad you can switch out actresses. I don’t even want to know what you have up your sleeve for Breaking Dawn.
It’s painful to watch you abuse something that means so much to so many people. If you don’t know that keeping the original cast is better for your receipts then I don’t want to see anything your company puts out. After this I have no idea of what your cabable of but I’m betting it’s not good.
Fix this before it’s too late. Do this series right. Rosanne replaced Becky and the show was never as good, Dr. Quinn Medicine Women replaced Colleen and the show was never as good and don’t get me started on the Darrens in Bewitched. They were just TV shows and it affected thier ratings. You want to try this with one of the most beloved novels of the decade with an incredibly diverse fanbase.
Do the right thing. Keep Rachelle. We all are mindless idiots who will follow the Twilight name without prejudice. If Rachelle is not Victoria it would be like watching an expensive sports car get totalled hitting an inanimate object. Doing it right is worth the extra money and even worth pushing back the release date. Us fans with the money to see it daily until it finally leaves the theaters want it done right. Please don’t disappoint us for your own sake. I’m sure you’ll make money but mark my words, it will be the lowest grossing of the films to that point and the hype for the 4th movie will be so low it will be ridiculous. Hope you listen.
