My Defining Twilight Writing Contest Ineligible Entry

The omnipresent danger of the Volturi court was inconsequential to me. For had I not sauntered into its perilous midst seeking my own death? For I did not wish to choose to be exiled with unrelenting misery and despair as my gloomy companions in eternal damnation.

I prepared my arguments to persuade the Volturi elders to see that the permanence of such an existence would drive me to become the very creature they feared — a renegade vampire whose erratic actions will be totally lacking in obedience to the rules that they had imposed on every member of our kind.

I strongly detested the need to request, nay, to beg, for the assistance of the revered family that had been elevated to the most noble of houses among our bloody castes.

Yet I must. I knew that no one among my family will agree to assist me in my own demise. In fact, secrecy of my plans had to be employed, for each one of them would surely attempt to stop me from carrying out the dark deed.

Therefore, I had sought out those who will aid me in my deadly task. And, if the Volturi elders refuse my pleas, then, their hand must be forced.

For death is the only state of existence that is bearable with the passing of my beautiful beloved Bella.

Only death…

Lorna Lopez aka ATwilightKiss Notes Please be reminded that the Defining Twilight writing contest deadline is on 31 July 2009. For more details, please click here.

Although I am ineligible for the contest since I live outside the United States, nevertheless, I find the concept of using eight words in an essay or fan fiction to be quite engaging. Therefore, I wrote one and still sent it in despite my ineligibility. It’s too much fun not to. ;)
