Kristen Stewart Saves Indie Film The Yellow Handkerchief

(From L) William Hurt and Kristen Stewart in The Yellow Handkerchief

Just like the presence of Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson has thrown attention on a little film called Little Ashes, the presence of Kristen Stewart in the indie film The Yellow Handkerchief has made distributors take a second look at a film that has been passed on during the round of 2008 film festivals. Examiner reports.

After debuting in early 2008 at Sundance to lukewarm reviews, the picture made the festival rounds. Despite starring Oscar-winner William Hurt, it failed to generate even a modest buzz and was passed on by studio after studio.

Before she found fame playing Bella Swan, Kristen Stewart starred alongside Hurt in The Yellow Handkerchief. Now her newfound stardom has finally made this local indie film marketable.

Variety has reported that Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired the distribution rights to The Yellow Handkerchief, and are eyeing a fall or winter release.

Kristen Stewart once said, “I’m so used to doing movies that nobody wants to see.”

I think that period has passed. Now, everybody’s interested in every movie that she will make in the future.

Way to go Kristen! I’m very happy that all the Twilight hype is bringing people to want to see her other movies. Just like how it was with Robert too. I really want to see this movie too!

Kristen! I´m your fan since you were a little kid, my princess (I´m not a pervert it´s just like you are so cute and talented) Here in Spain and Latin America we know you as “Kiki” or “Kikis”, a tender nickname for Kristen. I´m hopping to see all your movies, I´m very proud of you because you always have a comminment with good movies, even if they didn´t seem popular. GOOD FOR YOU BEAUTY! And good for Twilight because now we can see you in our countries. Pattinson, good for you too, if Kristen loves you is because you are talented and nice guy, ´cause she is very clever and a good girl.
