Kristen Stewart is the Alpha of the New Moon Pack On Set

The Cake Eaters director of Kristen Stewart, Mary Stuart Masterson, described her reaction to the Twilight actress upon their first meeting.
“I was instantly struck with her tremendous intelligence and also her sense of herself. She was truly grounded and has a power and ferocity about her…and yet in this delicate body…”
Other people who have worked with the talented actress have described this “power and ferocity” in other ways. One of the most recent additions to the New Moon cast, Alex Meraz, who plays Paul of the Quilete tribe, put it simply to Access Hollywood as “hard-core.”
Undoubtedly, Kristen Stewart has the respect of her peers when it comes to her knowledge and passion for the craft of acting, and, have, I think, unwittingly followed her direction and leadership on the Twilight and New Moon sets.
I found it interesting how a video that was simply supposed to be a greeting for their Volterra Italy fans found her cast mates whirling around her like planets to her steady sun; and when it was time to block the cast members, the heart of the group was immediately accorded to her and a ring of space was bestowed upon her.
What made it even more interesting was the fact that despite her core of strength, Kristen Stewart still felt an inner vulnerability and insecurity that made her hold on tight to BFF Nikki Reed’s hand throughout the greeting (maybe because of her unfamiliarity with the Italian language).
Nevertheless, I think, Kristen Stewart is the Alpha on the New Moon set, the unspoken authority conferred upon her for her passion, knowledge and experience in the film industry.
However, I believe this is not the case when it comes to public appearances, where Robert Pattinson shows his incredible interpersonal skills and charm, and there is a complete shift of roles as Rob becomes the Alpha among the cast members.
Of course, I do not mean to suggest that Kristen Stewart is above that of the director. Chris Weitz is definitely the head honcho Alpha; but, if a totem pole was going to be made of the cast on the set, then Kristen Stewart would probably be on top. Besides, it’s fun to talk of Alpha and Beta since the wolf pack is coming in for New Moon.
As an aside, we are probably seeing the costumes of the Cullens and Bella Swan in the birthday party sequence in the New Moon film; and, it was heartwarming to see Peter Facinelli eagerly being in front and waving at the camera, clearly proud of his Italian roots.

Cute and funny video. Kristen and Nikki are always holding hands. Kristen, why not hold Rob’s hand instead? C’mon, I think you will feel much more secure holding his hand than holding Nikki’s hand

yeah!Since New Moon is more on Bella and Jacob, I guess it’s time for the shifting of focus….It’s about time that KStew and Taylor Lautner be given the chance 2 be the center of attention at least for the New Moon movie.

This just proves, I think, that Kristen is so misunderstood. She’s very playful around her co-stars (like the “hello” with the arm gesture .. LOL) but also obviously very shy, extremely self-conscious and hates calling attention to herself (what she has in common with Rob). I think this is why she is drawn to Nikki who seems very confident and un-shy (too much). Great observation Lorna!
I liked that she called Ashley to come forward from the back (00:30). This seems to reinforce the rumor that Ashley and Kristen like each other can’t hang out because Kristen’s always with Nikki (and Ashley allegedly doesn’t like Nikki. Frankly, I think Nikki doesn’t like her either .. read: competition). It’s sad because Ashley seems like a nice person. Unfortunately our Bella is enthralled with the Talented Ms. Rosalie. Sigh. I’m hoping the Alice/Bella BFF scenes in the saga can help them out a little bit =)
Rob is gorgeous! But is THIS what they are wearing to Bella’s party?? Didn’t they all come from school or something? This is a little over the top. Like they dressed for the prom or something (I’m talking abour Rosalie’s over the top black dress)

Maybe this is something you can use to tell why RP is soo into her so much. I thought this was a great video with honest opinions about why we love Kristen and why RP loves her too.
