Kristen Stewart & Boyfriend Michael Angarano Laugh at Robert Pattinson Rumors

Kristen Stewart Confirms She Is Still With Her Boyfriend In a 05 March 2009 interview with Marc Malkin of E! Online, Kristen Stewart confirms she is still with her long-time beau Michael Angarano; and, with regards to the rumors linking her to her Twilight co-star, Robert Pattinson, Kristen says that she and her boyfriend, Michael, find humor in the situation, “We laugh about it.”
Update: There seems to be a question regarding this quote because it’s in parenthesis. According to some ATwilightKiss readers, it means that it is a quote from an earlier interview (see comments below). I will copy it in full from the E! interview.
“Rob and I are great friends,” Stewart says. “But I understand why you would assume that when we lean on each other for support, there must be something more…And I’m not criticizing anyone for thinking it, either. If anything, they’re really perceptive, because they can see a closeness.” (Her longtime boyfriend, actor Michael Angarano, isn’t fazed by the talk, either. “We laugh about it,” Stewart says.)
To my knowledge, a writer would subset a piece of information in parenthesis when the information is not directly related to the paragraph, but, is still significantly interesting for the readers to know.
Honestly, I’ve never heard of such a practice wherein a quote from an earlier interview would be indicated by a set of parenthesis. Usually, if it is from an earlier interview, it would be mentioned as such.
For example, if we assume that Kristen is unattached and the writer wants to quote her from another interview, it can be stated like this, “Kristen Stewart, in a previous interview, recounted that she and former boyfriend Michael Angarano would laugh at such rumors.”
The E! video above creates the impression that Kristen Stewart and Michael Angarano are still a couple as of 05 March 2009.
On the other hand, the Nylon Magazine March issue interview became suspect when Kristen mentioned that Michael was 20, when he’s actually 21 by March 2009, since his birthday is on December; thus, implying that the Nylon Magazine interview may have been done November 2008 or earlier. Consequently, it could have been inaccurate in the sense that Kristen and Michael could have broken up in the intervening period of November 2008 to March 2009.
Nevertheless, here’s the thing. If Kristen and Michael have really broken up, I firmly believe that not only the Twilight fans would be ecstatic, but, even more so the Summit Entertainment publicists. It would be a dream come true, a virtual paradise of sorts to titillate the fans. Their breakup is news that would be trumpeted and blared for everyone to hear.
The only reason the breakup news would be delayed would be because the fans don’t want it to happen, which is clearly not the case here. Or Kristen wants to keep it private until such time she feels ready to share it with the world.
So, until and when I read and/or hear a confirmation regarding the end of their relationship, I will steer clear of any unconfirmed piece of information about it.
Rob and I Are Friends Once again, Kristen brings out the friendship card and insists, “Rob and I are great friends, but, I understand why you would assume that when we lean on each other for support, there must be something more…And I’m not criticizing anyone for thinking it, either. If anything, they’re really perceptive, because they can see a closeness.”
Jumping Overboard from the Robsten Ship This is it. This is the sign that I’ve been waiting for.
I still firmly believe that Rob and Kristen fell in love at first sight during the Twilight audition at Catherine Harwicke’s place. Their feelings for each other intensified with the rigorous and demanding shoot. And, although Rob admitted his feelings for his Twilight co-star through actions and words numerous times, Kristen is on a denial binge, or she doesn’t realize or know how she feels, much in the same way Bella “fell” for Jacob.
Therefore, when I got too emotionally drained from the ups and downs of the Robsten affair a couple of weeks ago, I knew I had to start slowly disengaging.
Since nothing was forthcoming at the time from the Stewart camp whether she and Michael Angarano were still together, I was waiting to see if Michael would follow Kristen to either Japan, Canada or Italy as proof that they’re still a couple.
When there was no sign of Michael in Tokyo Japan, I thought there was a chance, but, with this day-old interview, the hot off the press confirmation shuts down any possibility of a breakup between the two lovebirds.
In my estimation, there’s probably a 1% chance of a Robsten coming to fruition. Kristen is a very decisive and stubborn person, so the probability of her changing her mind is really small.
Climbing Onboard the Team Robert Ship As I have named one of the ATwilightKiss categories Team Robert, I shall now metaphorically climb onboard the ship with the same name.
Rob has made an excellent decision of disengaging from Kristen Stewart on a personal level, and I shall follow his lead. As I told ATwilightKiss reader Chi, “Kung kinakaya ni Rob, kakayanin ko rin (If Rob is bearing it, then so can I).”
What Will Happen to ATwilightKiss Will I stop writing for ATwilightKiss? Of course not!
ATwilightKiss is not, primarily, a Robsten site. I will confess that there is great sadness with this recent development, but, it hasn’t erased my admiration for Kristen Stewart as an actor, or my great respect for Rob as a human being or my interest in the Twilight saga.
I will most probably still write The Robert Pattinson Diaries, but, there might be a bite to it with regards to Kristen’s denials, which I’ve already demonstrated with some recent posts such as The Robert Pattinson Diaries — Biting and Sucking the Finger of Kristen Stewart.
There will most probably be a great lessening of Robsten posts, if not almost an absence. However, I will be interested if Rob professes a great admiration for a lady, such as Natalie Portman. The category Team Robert is, ultimately, about Rob’s happiness and well-being on a personal level.
And, there will probably be a proliferation in the other categories, like, maybe now I can start writing my version of the Eclipse script for the Twilight Saga Unofficial Film Scripts.

A bunch of us over at rpattz_kstew live journal community are pretty sure that the quote from eonline: (Her longtime boyfriend, actor Michael Angarano, isn’t fazed by the talk, either. “We laugh about it,” Stewart says.)… is recycled from an old kstew comment back in November or december. The fact that it’s in brackets implies it’s not a direct quote from her for this particular day-old interview. This is something she said a while back in response to a Life & Style issue late last year.
Though I can understand your waning enthusiasm… I’m not jumping overboard just yet. There’s still hope…

i totally agree with u ju. but i also agree that kristen is way too stubborn for her own good (being a robsten fan lol). the more people push her towards a relationship with rob, the less likely it becomes and the more defensive she’ll get.
they still have 3 entire movies to make together so im not giving up yet. if they became this close during the course of one movie, then think wat they can do with three more. lets just hope that kristen can open her eyes before it too late. so so stubborn….

this is really so sad…i cry inside my heart..i feel pain coz i was really hoping for “robsten” couple and now, all my hope was turned into ashes…no matter what, i still be supporting robsten…and maybe dont care at all what kristen tells about “constant denial”…pretty sure, rob is constanly insulted with her constant rejection and denial..=( (sniff..sniff)

In the Marc interview she said that she wasn’t invited to the Oscars. I find that very hard to believe…
I really do not understand their friendship. I mean her boyfriend,isn’t jealous? Is he blind or what? Why is her the only person who denies the deeper connection? Why Robert doesn’t do it? I mean if you would love your boyfriend and you would want to stop all this, it’s not so complicated to ask your good friend Robert, to deny the rumors.
Anyway, I think we must prepare for the worst and hope for the better.

OK I missed the interview, so Edward was invited but she wasn’t..That means that Robert is the real upraising star fo Twilight..I hope to see him in much more movies than her..
And now that makes sense why her father spoke badly about Twilight when he was asked about his daughter’s absence at the oscars.

Well, actually, the quote about angarano is actually old so it doesn’t matter, it was added on to finish the quote. Actually, if you read the entire interview, she really doesn’t deny or confirm anything, she just says rob and her are great friends and she says the fans are very perceptive of the closeness that they have. sooo to my belief she is saying the fans see the connection they share and that she knows it !!!
again she is neither denying or comfirming and another thing She sang a love song (Elton John’s Your Song) with Robert at a karaoke bar in Japan so the interview is kinda mixed. She is, like, giving clues. She really doesn’t mention Michael in the interview. That was added on. She doesn’t say Rob and her are just friends. She said he is a great friend to me.
There is still hope. Keep in mind there are three movies to go. More time they spend together the more chances of them being officially a couple.
Oh, and another thing. I just got the Nylon Magazine. Seriously, Kristen talks so beautifully about her co-stars, but, about her bf or ex-bf, I really believe they are done.
“He is awesome.” I mean, you would say more if you really are in love with somebody, don’t you think?

I also thought I had to start slowly disengaging about “Robsten” cause I come close heart attack every time I see an (old or not) interview about Kris and her fucking boyfriend! So hard to me.
But I can’t help but to hope, again and again.

I’m not giving up yet. There’s still hope. I think this is pretty much the same situation than Brad, Angie and Jen. Kristen is just 19 and she could change her bf several times. And can you imagine Michael laughing at this?Cause i can’t!And everyone always says: yeah, yeah we’re just friend blaah, blaah , blaah…. I honostly don’t belive Kristen at all. Hi Diana. As of 23 April 2009, Michael is still officially Kristen Stewart’s boyfriend. There has been no official announcement by their reps about them breaking up.

I think that everything that’s revolving around Kristen and Rob’s friendship is ridiculous. They are just friends and if by some miracle they aren’t, who cares? I’m a HUGE twilighter and even I would rather have Kristen stay with Michael – wanna know why? Well because they were together before all of the madness happened within Kristen’s life. They weren’t influenced by the public and they’ve been together for quite some time. I think the whole thing about Kristen and Rob is blown out of proportion and I hope that they both will not listen to the chatter surrounding them; however, if they do end up together or don’t, nobody should be complaining – it’s their life!

I am so glad I found your website. I have felt all along that they fell in love at the audition. Rob has always admitted his feelings. It has always been in his body language but I haven’t always seen it in Kristen’s. I really noticed it at the MTV awards. How smudge when she said she told him “I’m not going to kiss you”. She can’t seem to let go of Mikey so I think she should tell Robert and let go of him. He deserves better. The other websites were driving me crazy always trying to find when Rob and Kristen got together….they haven’t it is so plain and I don’t think they will.

Hey, with the Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson diaries, why don’t just merge them to gether, Lorna. Because im sure lots of people would like to ynderstand what they r both feeling at that one tim. For example:

Rob ut his arm around me while we posed for a few Twilight fans that were waiting for us outside the set.
ROB: I put my arm around Kristen. I glanced at her from the corner of my eye and saw her questioning expression, because I usually didn’t put my arm around her when we were posing for anyone.
