The New York Daily News reports that The Runaways co-stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning MAY have an intimate scene that will require the two actresses to kiss.
The script reportedly calls for Stewart, who plays Joan Jett in the film, to swap spit with Fanning, who stars as singer Cherie Curie, resulting in their clothes being “scattered all over their hotel room floor in one scene,” according to a source.
Both Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning are no strangers to tackling difficult roles. However, Dakota may have experienced the most controversy for her role in the film Hounddog.
In particular, the mother of 15-year-old Dakota Fanning garnered harsh criticism, with petitions for her to be incarcerated for child pornography, when it was learned that Dakota was doing a rape scene for Hounddog when she was only 12, a decision that her daughter was quick to defend.
“Pretty much everybody who talked about it attacked my mother, which I did not appreciate. That was extremely uncalled for and hurtful.”
The rape scene in question was finally scrutinized when a rough cut of the film was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2007.
The scene lasts less than a minute, and no simulation of a sex act is depicted on camera. The viewer sees flashes of Dakota’s face, hand and foot as she falls, but the camera looks away as she begins to cry. No nudity is shown, though all involved in the movie agree it is a disturbing sequence.
Fanning, however, said the scene was not disturbing to shoot. She filmed the close-ups of her face alone, with the direction: Hold your breath, wait, now gasp.

Yes, it was for the acclaimed indie film Speak
However, although Kristen shot the rape scene when she was 13, there was no reported controversy over the scene

Not sure if I’m ready to see Dakota in this type of film…I’m just so used to seeing her in little girl roles. Oh well, c’est la vie!

Hi Lorna, hi everyone…
1. Film Magic. It think, that’s the magic of making films. It’s not actually what it seems. And the actors who can really led us to believe that the scenes were real, are actually the ones we should call as ‘good actors’. Though I do appreciate sometimes that when actors really into their characters and willing to go ‘all the way’ for it. Like doing their own stunts and stuffs.
2. Rape Scenes. Is it probably because–relatively compared to Dakota, Kristen is somewhat perceived by us as ‘the seriously tougher’ girl-actor? And thus doing those scenes, at pretty much the same age, yield no critics at all. Or, well, probably becos Kristen did not have the same amount of public attention as Dakota had since her early roles.
I even doubt anybody ever know who Kristen is prior Twilight, and maybe only handful of people can recall her as the daughter in Panic Room (ah, well, Kristen hardcore fans will kill me for this statement. LOL. No offence, guys. LOL).
Keep it up, Lorna.
See ya guys.

Hi mayhemonte,
Actually, I had seen a few of Kristen’s films before Twilight and I was totally hooked. Not attacking you on it. You’re actually right in most cases. I have friends that had never heard of her until Twilight came out. I was actually astonished to see she had been put into that role. Lol. Just speaking out for the few of us who did love Kristen before she became part of the Twilight fan base.
Has anyone in here ever watched Speak? That’s a brilliant movie, I don’t care what the critics say. Lol
