Kristen Stewart Acts As Mother of Dakota Fanning in Kate Hudson Tribeca Film

In an unexpected twist, The Runaways co-stars, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, are also co-stars in a Tribeca Film Festival short film entry that’s written and directed by Hollywood star Kate Hudson.
Another surprising aspect of the film is the fact that Kristen Stewart plays the mother of Dakota Fanning, albeit the younger version.
Since they are supposed to have existed decades apart, that also means Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning are never seen onscreen together although they are both in the film.
It is ironic that in their upcoming New Moon Volterra scenes, there will be a reversal, years wise, since Dakota Fanning will portray the thousands year old vampire Jane while Kristen Stewart will be eighteen year old Bella Swan.
Aside from Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, the short film Cutlass also stars Virginia Madsen, Kurt Russell, Chevy Chase and Sarah Roemer.
A number of Tribeca Film Festival shorts will be available for viewing till 08 May 2009 at the Tribeca Film YouTube channel

Love Kstew’s performance in this. Dakota was cute too. Just had to share my parallism here. My first car I drove was my parent’s 1981 White Cutlass Oldsmobile. Thank god they discontinued the Oldsmobile. I always felt I was driving Grandma and Grandpa’s car …”Old”. I wrecked the car and my parents caved and bought me a Honda Accord EX…was soo happy. haha

I love KStew.While Twilight propelled her to stardom. i don’t like her role as Bella in that the book twilight portrayed Bella as as uninteresting character.Bella was an unpopular girl at least while she was in Phoenix.She’s clumsy and shy.etc.nothing special in there at least in human eyes Bella is nothing special.Kristen therefore did not have the opportunity 2 show her acting chops.Instead ,she became this “boring and monotonous” Bella.It’s not Kristen’s fault that she acted that way.It’ the way Bella is in the book.Moreover,the book Twilight also described Bella as very cool as 2 her reactions towards danger and that’s one thing that amazes Edward-her cool reception of things including danger.That explains why KStew is “monotonous” in her dialogues so don’t be too quick to criticize her.Kindly,read the book and see what i mean.I pity KStew coz some say she can’t act bcoz of this.She’s a great actress.She has worked more on indie films that’s why she is not that known.But she has worked with famous actors at a younger age like Jodie Foster in Panic Room and though she did not win an award yet,her performance did not go unnoticed.Lte’s not be too hard on KStew.All she needs is an opportunity-a great project that could show her acting prowess.Just wait.

I think Kristen gave a finely textured and intelligent performance as Bella. In the hands of a less sensitive actor, Bella could have easily turned into a histrionic damsel in distress. Kristen gave Bella a dignity and depth that cannot be accused of being monotonous.

I like Kristen Stewart. I like how she portrayed Bella. Some of my friends say she can’t act in that movie but I think the acting was good. I mean she had to act like how Bella was in the book.

@Isabel :
i agreed with you. I don’t understand those who said she can’t act, for me, she is the perfect bella … in looks and actions … just the way i had imagined it.
And i also think she is actually abit of a BELLA in her real life … her awkward actions at times in the interviews … she had done … i really like that about her.

@ bwawey :-
I thought she was a boy at first, a good looking one .. lol … through the years, i saw of her in a few movies but i didn’t recognise her at first as she had grown up and i wasn’t uptodate with her career. But after twilight, I found out more about her, and realised that I have seen more of her in some of the movies I had seen.
I expect more great things from her, as I really think she is very talented. I hope she will get better and more roles in the future. She’s very versatile in my eyes, with a change of hairstyle and hair color, or some makeup, she looked like a totally different person. Though, i prefer her as a brunette.
I agreed with you. The first time i saw her was fr panic room, and fr then, she gave me a very good impression.
