Jackson “Jasper Hale” Rathbone May Leave Twilight Series for The Last Airbender

Potential Production Schedule Conflict When MTV informed Twilight star Robert Pattinson at the 2009 Oscars red carpet that the Eclipse release date is 30 June 2010, he expressed his ignorance and surprise, “I didn’t even know that!”
With the Eclipse film in the planning stages to be shot right after New Moon, Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in the Twilight series, may have to choose between his two current projects — Twilight or The Last Airbender, which is scheduled for a 02 July 2010 release, which implies that the shooting for both films may take place over the same period.
If Jackson Rathbone were to choose The Last Airbender, I would not be surprised.
The Last Airbender Synopsis I am a fan of the Nickelodeon three part animated series, which has gained a wide following, not only among children, but, also those of the adult demographic. It has even won an Emmy award.
In a nutshell, “The [Avatar The Legend of Aang The Last Airbender] series follows the adventures of the main protagonist Aang and his friends, who must save the world by defeating the Fire Lord and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.”
Who Is Sokka? Jackson Rathbone has gotten the plum part of Sokka, “a fifteen-year-old warrior of the South Pole’s Southern Water Tribe.” As Sokka, Jackson will be playing a character that must display growth as he travels the world with The Last Airbender to gain the skills to defeat the Fire Lord.
From a chauvinistic backward male, Sokka will gain knowledge and experience that will convert him to a sword and boomerang wielding Water Tribe warrior, with the genius for designing destructive weapons, the leadership to inspire men to go into war, the capacity for massive planning, the wit and humor to make his friends collapse with laughter, and the love to gain the hearts of a moon princess and a female Kyoshi warrior.
Although Jasper Hale is a very interesting character, a vampire has essentially been “set in stone,” with vast limitations for change and growth, unlike the character of Sokka.
Excited About The Last Airbender MTV reports that Jackson is excited about The Last Airbender, “For me, it’s a great chance to show my range a little bit more. It’s a chance to do something a little funnier. Something less serious than Jasper.
“It’s just an action-packed, epic film. I’m starting to do martial-arts training, which is going to be so much fun, and we’re doing a lot of interesting work with the green screen. It’s such a mythical world. We get to go to Asia, go film abroad. It’s just going to be such a blast.”
The Last Airbender Director and Scriptwriter The Last Airbender will have M. Night Shyamalan as director and scriptwriter for the three films comprising The Last Airbender. M. Night Shyamalan is best known for his groundbreaking supernatural thrillers such as The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Village and The Lady in the Water
Hopefully, the schedule of Jackson Rathbone will be able to accommodate the series of both Twilight and The Last Airbender, but, if something has to give, don’t be surprised if he chooses the M. Night Shyamalan films.

Filming for Eclipse is already in progress and from what I have seen & heard Jackson is still in it. Yey!!
It would be silly for him to be in all the Twilight movies except for the very last one; so hopefully they will have worked out the next filming schedules so there will be no conflict with Breaking Dawn. It would be crap if Jackson wasn’t in the final Twilight saga movie.
Jackson is HOT!!!! I’m so looking forward to seeing him in The Last Airbender movies – I loved the cartoon series, but him being in the movie version is reason enough for me to go see it.
