How Much Does A Movie Ticket Cost at Your Local Cinema

Courtesy of Summit Entertainment
Curiosity again on my part. How much does a movie ticket cost at your local cinema? Maybe you can give the cost in your local currency and then convert it to dollars, plus, tell us any special features that exist at your local cinema.
For example, in Metro Manila, a movie ticket costs around Php 120-170, an estimated $3-4. In certain malls and films, continuous screening is allowed, meaning one ticket will allow you to watch a film numerous times. Woot!

Well I pay 14 € in Germany for watching a double feature. That will be about 7 € for New Moon alone, depending on what day of the week it is. (Friday to Sunday it is more expensive). I have no idea how many USD that is

About $14.50 at a theater here in Hollywood but its assigned seating. All other theaters are about $11.75. I’d rather do the assigned seating one for New moon since its going to be crazy around release time.

It costs Kshs 350-Kshs 550 in Kenya which is about $4.50 -$7. However, it is considered expensive here coz guys can earn less than $10,000 in a year. I’ve been saving up for the movie; although there are no signs of it being screened yet.
October 21st, 2009 at 8:34 pm

October 21st, 2009 at 9:32 pm
well…well….lucky all of you…
I live in the small city, in the middle of Borneo Island. very…very…small city.
we newly have movie theater last september (can you believe it??..) and it’s cost IDR15.000-20.000 or $1.5 – 2 US dollars
It’s quite cheap actually, but I think NM will play around march or may 2010 (can you believe it again ??..)
so…..I think, I will use my first method like last year when I saw Twilight.
I bought a returned flight ticket it’s cost around IDR 1.200.000 0r $120 US dollars to Jakarta (state nation of Indonesia) and a movie ticket cost around IDR 35.000- 50.000 or $ 3.50-5.00 ( it’s same like Rosie who lives in Bandung, Indonesia….hi Rosie *hands wave*)
then I could see NM in Dec, 3 months faster than my origin city, but still late than all of you in europe or US
October 21st, 2009 at 9:41 pm
@saphemyst
) somewhere near the right turn to greenhills.
) The first time I saw it was on my way to school, I looked at it and I forgot everything including my dad who was trying to get my attention.
) It’s really huge you can’t miss it. I’m so happy we pass by there twice a day!

Hi Lorna. Long time.. In Egypt a matinee ticket this last week was equivalent to 2.5$. I watched BD last week alone while kids in school and bought an extra ticket for my bag and for some privacy
Planning on going again this weekend with my daughter.
November 26th, 2011 at 7:44 pm
Hello Twimom Cairo. Great to hear from you. That’s an interesting tactic with the bag. I do it sometimes as well, but without bothering to buy the extra ticket. Haha!
