How Kristen Stewart Saved Robert Pattinson During the Eclipse Tent Scene

During a press junket for The Twilight Saga Eclipse, Robert Pattinson reveals how his co-star Kristen Stewart intuitively knew he was “freaking out” and sought to put him at ease during the shooting of the tent scene.
“I mean, it’s weird that you mentioned the tent scene about that, as well, ‘cause I remember for some reason on that day—‘cause we re-shot it, as well—but the first time we did it, I was like, really freaking out. I don’t know why. And it was getting so—I think it’s something to do with like, claustrophobia or something, ‘cause we were actually shooting it in a tent—I just couldn’t get it together, and I kept forgetting my lines and getting so nervous, and I just wanted to go and punch any—anyone who was near me—in the face.
“And we did about three takes and then, I think—and Kristen’s supposed to be asleep on the floor, and she kind of, she saw that I was like, freaking out and—I don’t know why—and like kind of halfway through the take she suddenly opened her eyes, she’s like staring at me and kept trying to make me laugh the entire take, and it’s like the most serious scene in the whole movie, and like, I kind of—I just wanted to—just like, strangle her for like the first two seconds, but then the entire scene I was playing—I could almost not stop laughing the entire time.
“And it was the only—we’d got like literally one take where it went kind of right, and it was because of that, which was, which was weird. I was trying to hold back laughter and I guess it kind of me look more alive, or something. They did re-shoot the scene in the end [laughs], so maybe that was—maybe I’m a little bit mistaken.”

Aw! I think that’s so sweet. I love that they can do that for each other and Kristen was able to help him out when he was kind bummed and in a funk, unable to focus on the scene. That’s just great. ♥
