Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 broke a lot of records and earned a whopping US$475.5 on its opening weekend. With the film also available on 3D, which will surely drive up its receipts, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is expected to be the first film in the franchise to reach more than a billion dollars. When it does, it will join a short list of films that have done so, which include Avatar, Titanic, Lord of the Rings Return of the King and Toy Story 3.

It may reach 1B worldwide, but I doubt it will reach that amount US dollars. Seems like all the fans saw it at one time. Took a big drop at the start of this week.
