For sure, the Balenciaga fashion team has seen the images of Kristen Stewart meeting with Karl Lagerfeld. Assuming that Kristen’s management team didn’t give them a heads up, they must have probably placed a discreet call and somehow asked `¿porque (why)?’ and made their feelings clear (a disastrous example would be ‘no nos gusta (we don’t like it)’).

Personally, I’m also wondering about this meeting. Was it a courtesy call because Kristen Stewart wore a Karl Lagerfeld creation for her recently concluded Vanity Fair photo shoot? Was Karl Lagerfeld curious about the Twilight Saga star and wanted to consider the possibility of her representing one of his products (not perfume of course and depending on the lockout of her Balenciaga contract)?

My curiosity about the Kristen Stewart and Karl Lagerfeld meeting will be probably appeased in the future. Or maybe never.

Snow White and the Huntsman vs. Mirror Mirror Trailer

With the recent release of the Mirror Mirror trailer, I decided that I will finally watch my one and only Snow White and the Huntsman trailer, as is my custom; and, invariably, compare.

It seems that both films had their Snow White running away into the woods, meeting up with some malcontents before training to defeat the Evil Queen, albeit the difference is Mirror Mirror takes a comic bent while Snow White and the Huntsman decides on a more profound and frightening attack.

Since I’m a sci-fi/fantasy genre fan, I’m more attracted to Snow White and the Huntsman, although my overall satisfaction will still have to be determined. I was taken aback with its marked similarity to the Lord of the Rings trilogy (remember that design on Kristen’s shield that’s too much like the White Tree of Gondor?), although the knowledge that the Alice in Wonderland team is involved does allay some of my fears.

Once again, knowing how supportive Kristen Stewart is of her New Moon director Chris Weitz, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine the Twilight star congratulating him for the 2012 Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his lead, Demián Bichir, in the Summit Entertainment film A Better Life.

MTV managed to catch Demián Bichir for his reaction to the nomination:

Another first-time nominee in the Best Actor category is Demián Bichir, star of the lesser-known but well-received “A Better Life,” who admitted to being completely overwhelmed at having his name read along with Oldman’s and the other “incredible” Best Actor nominees.

“This could have never happened if Chris Weitz had not been the head of this film,” Bichir said in a statement. “He is my brother and I thank him deeply. Hopefully more and more people will jump into iTunes and Netflix to see our film. That will be the biggest reward we could get. I dedicate this nomination to those eleven million human beings who make our lives easier and better in the U.S.”

Kristen Stewart & Anton Yelchin & Dakota Fanning There are some interesting things about the upcoming film, Very Good Girls, wherein Dakota Fanning, together with 2011 Sundance darling Elizabeth Olsen, will play friends who fall in love with the character of Anton Yelchin. Remarkably, Kristen Stewart and Anton Yelchin co-starred as young star-crossed lovers in the 2005 film Fierce People.

Screenwriters with Directorial Debuts Like Kristen Stewart’s mom, Jules Mann – Stewart, Very Good Girls director Naomi Foner is also a screenwriter. Jules Mann – Stewart helmed her directorial debut effort, entitled K-11, last year. Naomi Foner will shoot her directorial debut, Very Good Girls, on June 2012 in New York.

Famous Daughter and Son Another interesting fact is that both Jules Mann – Stewart and Naomi Foner have famous children. Jules Mann – Stewart, of course, is the mother of Kristen Stewart; while Naomi Foner calls Jake Gyllenhaal son.

No Michael Sheen in Underworld 4

With the story line of Underworld 4 kept a secret, I earlier wondered if Volturi Michael Sheen will be part of the film, having been such an intriguing figure in the first installment and then graduating to the ultimate romantic persona by the third film, notwithstanding the personal turmoil he had with his then co-star and now ex-wife Kate Beckinsale.

Presently, Michael Sheen is clearly not part of Underworld 4, dampening my excitement for the vampire – lycan series. I’m still trying to summon the enthusiasm to go to the movie theater. I may end up not going at all, though.

Bryce Dallas Howard, who replaced Rachelle LeFevre (in a controversial move by Summit) to play Twilight baddie Victoria in The Twilight Saga Eclipse, officially confirmed that she’s pregnant last May 2011. On 19 January 2012, her wait for a visit from the stork was finally over as her whole family celebrated the arrival of a baby girl. US Weekly reports.

The Help actress, [Bryce Dallas Howard], welcomed a daughter into the world on Thursday, which her dad, famous movie producer/director Ron Howard, confirmed via Twitter Saturday evening.

“Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel. Born Jan 19 2012. 8lbs 6oz. Bryce & Baby B are spectacular. Daddy Seth & brother Theo are beaming ear to ear. ”

Captive World Premiere at Berlin Film Festival on February 2012

While researching about the world premiere of Robert Pattinson’s Bel Ami at the Berlin Film Festival, the word Philippines caught my eye. It seems that my country, in cooperation with France, Germany and Great Britain, has a film entitled Captive as part of the competition. This is quite momentous because the last time Philippines competed was almost three decades ago. Philippine Daily Inquirer reports :

[Director Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s] “Captive,” formerly titled “Prey,” tells the story of a foreign aid worker (French actress Isabelle Huppert) who gets kidnapped, along with Filipinos, by bandit groups in Mindanao.

“Captive,” will compete in the main section of the Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held in the German capital on February 9-19 [2012].

Even out of competition, the world premiere of a film during a festival must be more nerve wracking than the regular premiere, with directors, producers, actors and film critics surely in attendance. Kristen Stewart is more experienced in this area, having several pieces of her work premiere in various film festivals.

With the announcement that Bel Ami will have its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival within the period of 09-19 February 2012, will Kristen Stewart quietly support her man, the same way she did when she attended the Water for Elephants premiere?

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been committed to making their sometimes long-distance relationship work, traveling to each other’s film sets when necessary.

Robert Pattinson Will Play Piano Duet in Breaking Dawn Part 2

This will surely be one of the loveliest moments in The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 film. In an interview, Carter Burwell, composer of the Twilight films, has revealed that Edward and daughter Renesmee, played by actors Robert Pattinson and Mackenzie Foy, shot a sequence wherein they played the piano together. He also disclosed how Rob, being an able piano player, was quite intent on getting the proper fingering for the composition.

At what point in the filming process will you come onboard?

Generally, I don’t actually write anything until a film has actually been shot. But, there are some exceptions.

In the movie I’m working on right now, which is “Breaking Dawn: Part II,” they needed Rob Pattinson and the actress who plays his daughter to play piano onscreen. I had to write this duet before they shot the film so they could actually learn the parts. Rob is a musician, so he prides himself on working out the fingering for these correctly.

There are a couple of reasons why Kristen Stewart may be enticed out of hibernation. Two of her previous co-stars are the leads in a 2012 Sundance film — Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg from Adventureland and Oscar winner Melissa Leo from Welcome to the Rileys and The Cake Eaters.

With her generous nature, Kristen Stewart may well be persuaded to head over to her old stomping grounds in Park City, Utah and support her previous co-stars by attending the world premiere or one of its screenings. Predisposed is one of 91 films that will have its world premiere at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival :

Okay, I was taken by surprise that Chris Hemsworth is married. Not only is he married, but his wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, is expecting their first child. Elsa is teasing her husband that she will only teach the baby the Spanish language to encourage him to learn it faster. People reports.

“I’m only going to speak to the baby in Spanish. I already told my husband, ‘Get ready fast with Spanish because, if not, you’re not going to be able to understand what we say,” she says.

Now, the seating arrangement of Betty White and Robert Pattinson at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards has been revealed to resonate with more meaning than meets the eye.

It seems that during the promotion of Remember Me in 2010, Robert Pattinson described Betty White as “one of the sexiest women in America! She’s vibrant; it’s sexy. I think the more age, the better.”

And, this off the cuff comment from the Twilight star has made it to the fifth book of Betty White — If You Ask Me (And Of Course You Won’t) — as a blurb, which the Hot in Cleveland star asserts did not cost her a nickel.

Kristen Stewart Favorite Food Network Host Allegedly Diagnosed with Diabetes

Kristen Stewart has been quite vocal about her admiration for Food Network host Paula Deen.

Stewart said she’s a “massive, massive” fan and points to Southern cook Paula Deen as one of her favorites. “I think Paula is hilarious and she makes the best food ever,” Stewart gushed.

However, rumors are whirling, saying that Paula Deen is about to announce that she has Diabetes 2, in connection with a “a multimillion-dollar deal with a pharmaceutical company to promote the medication she has been taking for the disease.”

Kristen Stewart is no stranger to the disease, having portrayed a young character living with diabetes in the film The Panic Room, where Academy winner Jodie Foster played her mother.

This announcement has set me giggling. Remember how I keep harping on this beautiful Balenciaga dress that Kristen Stewart wore for the New Moon premiere in Madrid, the latest of which is The Robert Pattinson Diaries — Persuading Kristen Stewart to Wear Victoria’s Secret for Christmas?

Well, Balenciaga has announced that Kristen Stewart has been chosen as the new face of the second perfume from the famous fashion house, which will be launched in the fall of 2012, “embodying Kristen’s “modernity” and “unique sensibility and intelligence,” says Balenciaga’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere.”

Moreover, the public statement from Kristen Stewart regarding her acceptance to represent the Balenciaga brand sounds like her:

“Balenciaga has always stood out to me,” quotes Women’s Wear Daily of Stewart. “Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”

And, maybe this means that Kristen Stewart will wear more exciting creations from Balenciaga (that will set Rob on fire). Now, the 2012 Oscars show sounds like a pretty good idea.

From a Twilighter’s point of view, there were two highlights for me at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards held at the Nokia Theatre in LA on 11 January 2012: seeing Robert Pattinson with a buzz cut (which is always preferable than when he grows a wild mop and scraggly beard), and seeing the indefatigable and charming Betty White seated beside him. Hopefully, Ms. White, who has been working steadily in the business even at the age of 90 (her birthday is on 17 January), was able to impart a few words of wisdom to the aspiring actor.

While promoting his upcoming film The Woman in Black, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was grilled mercilessly by top MTV reporter Josh Horowitz about everything American, with one section focusing on The Twilight Saga (go to 1:49).

Although any Twilighter would have rattled off the answers to the question as to what were the titles of the movie series, the film and theater actor struggled, eventually naming them all; and, after having been informed that he was correct, joked about expressing relief that he won’t be subjected to the ire of a billion Twilight fans online. When asked which one was the best film, Daniel Radcliffe also confessed that he has only been able to catch the first film.

Twilight The Musical — A Parody

In July 2009, I wrote that Twilight will most likely one day be a Broadway musical, pointing out unlikely adaptations such as Lord of the Rings and Spiderman as current Great White Way productions. Well, my prediction has partially become true.

Playbill reports that a parody of Twilight will be staged, which “examines our culture of obsession through the story of teenage outsider Bella Swan who risks everything when she embarks on a star-crossed romance with Vampire Edward Cullen.”

If ever The Twilight Saga the Musical will be staged, it has to be AFTER the Breaking Dawn Part 2 film, which is the standard practice in order to protect and support certain creative adaptations from any written work.

“[Dakota and I] had a few [Runaways] scenes that were crazy intimidating, and maybe once or twice, [Dakota] was like ‘Okay, I have a butterfly in my stomach.’ Meanwhile, I’m hyperventilating! Sometimes I give her s*** for being so on the ball.”

Tom Sturridge and Sienna Miller are supposedly expecting, which creates an imaginary scenario wherein Tom calls up his mate, Rob, who just happens to be in the same city that he’s in, and asks whether Rob and Kristen would be free to babysit little Tom or Sienna.

The only fly in the ointment? The realization that both Rob and Kristen smoke. In order for the child not to inhale second-hand smoke, they have to abstain before and during the babysitting session, which may be quite difficult for the pair to do. (As an asthmatic, I have frequently found that smokers don’t realize how much cigarette smoke is still within their lungs after smoking, which coats every breath they exhale and word they speak after the activity, and how much the smoke clings to their hair, skin and clothes. )

The 84th Academy Awards® is on 26 February 2012. Bel Ami will open in the United States on 02 March 2012. Therefore, I think that Robert Pattinson will most likely attend the 2012 Oscars. Besides, he has two more films opening during the year 2012: Cosmopolis and The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2.

As for Kristen Stewart, Snow White and the Huntsman is opening on June 2012. On The Road will most likely be released in 2012 as well. Of course, The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 will be on November 2012.

Although Kristen’s films will not open during 2012’s first quarter, the huge publicity surrounding the well-respected Oscars show will always be a welcome boost to any film’s marketing. So, Kristen, in my opinion, is a 50-50 show/no show. However, if Rob goes, he may well persuade his girlfriend to keep him company.
