Jackson Rathbone Defends Last Airbender Director

I am a fan of the hit Nickelodeon series Avatar The Last Airbender, which has been recently been made into a feature film. Critics have savaged the latest M. Night Shyamalan opus, and, although I personally think it may not be his best work, I would liken my reaction to it to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Both directors were committed to making a faithful adaptation, and, in doing so, did not reach the zenith of the film medium.

MTV reports that Last Airbender and Twilight Saga star Jackson Rathbone has jumped to the defense of his director.

“The critics in the U.S. … I just don’t think they really like M. Night Shyamalan anymore,” Rathbone told MTV News while on the blue carpet for the 2010 Teen Choice Awards. “I don’t know why. It’s sad because he’s such an amazing director and an amazing person.”

“It was interesting, the reception with ‘The Last Airbender,’ because they did extremely well with the U.S. domestic box office and even better than expected overseas,” he said.

Summit Entertainment Announces Breaking Dawn Casting for Benjamin

Summit Entertainment releases a piece of Breaking Dawn casting news. The powerful vampire who decides to join forces with the Cullen family, Benjamin, will be played by HBO series The Pacific actor Rami Malek. As Benjamin, Rami Malek will be the most influential member of the Egyptian coven since he controls the elements of earth, air, water and fire.

Rami Malek says he is “thrilled” to be part of the successful franchise, which will start filming on November 2010.

Taylor Lautner Demands Donation to Settle Lawsuit

In response to the breach of contract lawsuit filed by Taylor Lautner, the dealer owner who allegedly failed to deliver a US$300,000 RV on time and in good condition countered with a push up contest proposal.

The lawyer of Taylor Lautner responded that “the matter might be settled if McMahon, [the dealer], made a US$40,000 donation to a charity of Taylor’s choosing.”

Now that’s an excellent counter proposal…

I was so f—ing raging mad that I ignored Rob’s attempts to shield me from the paps by going in front of me. Instead, I strode even faster until I passed him and advanced towards the hungry waiting throng at the Los Angeles airport where I knew we would be mobbed by f—ing cameras and f—ing intrusive questions.

Finally, Rob gave up and followed silently behind me as I stormed towards the f—ing paps, eager to shove my way through them, hoping that some of them would feel some sort of pain from my physical aggression that was struggling violently to be let loose.

I wish I could release it totally, but, I know I couldn’t. I would end up getting f—ing arrested; but, a part of me cajoled temptingly to step on a f—ing foot, elbow some f—ing idiot in the stomach or even knee some a—h—’s groin. I savored the images as I neared the f—ing paps. I wanted to f—ing kick and f—ing smash their faces in for invading our privacy repeatedly.

In an interview, I had likened the experience to a rape, and I’ve apologized for it afterward, but, it really did feel like one when confronted with what should have been a tender quiet moment between two lovers becoming a piece of f—ing entertainment for everyone to ogle and gawk at. After seeing those images in Montreal splashed all over the tabloids, I felt f—ing used and dirtied.

One particular pap who was shoving his f—ing camera right into my face as I tried to get into the SUV got it from me, “Get a different job, you a—h—!”

It felt good to release a little bit of the anger and pain. I clenched my hands into fists as we waited for the vehicle to take us away from the madness, trying to control my escalating wrath. F—ing s—t! F—k the paps! F—k the publishers! F—k the public who are as ravenous as the paps are! The paps wouldn’t be so f—ing aggressive if there wasn’t a f—ing demand for it! F—k them all to f—ing h—l! Why can’t they f—ing just leave us the f—k alone!

I released my tightened fingers and raised my hand to give the universal third finger salute to show them how I felt. F—k you a—h—s!

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, in a nutshell, is a film wherein boy wins girl by defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends.

The premise immediately made me giggle because I can imagine Robert Pattinson in an arena with the ex-boyfriend of Kristen Stewart — Michael Angarano — which does not mean to say I think that he’s evil, in fact, I like him very much (as to why please click here).

And they slug it out in a very unmanly fashion, with Rob missing Mike several times, who, of course, is much more physically coordinated, as can be seen in his martial arts movie with Jackie Chan and Jet Li — The Forbidden Kingdom — which can only cause moments of hilarity before Rob makes a surprising move that makes him come out on top. And wins the heart of one Kristen Stewart

And, yes, that was Oscar nominee and Twilight starlet Anna Kendrick at the end of the trailer with Michael Cera

Kristen Stewart in Another Sexy Role in On The Road Film

I’ve seen Kristen Stewart in Adventureland, The Runaways, Into the Wild and I’m about to watch Welcome to the Rileys. To learn that her On The Road character will be another sexy role makes me think that The Twilight Saga character of Bella Swan is an anomaly in her resume. Life & Style reports:

Life & Style has obtained the script for the Kristen Stewart’s steamy new movie, On the Road, based on the Jack Kerouac novel. Her character, 16-year-old Marylou, has a threesome with a couple of hotties, asks to watch two people have sex and brags about loving to perform oral sex.

His depiction of Carlisle Cullen has been deemed ‘Worst Vampire,’ but Peter Facinelli turned what could have been an insulting epithet into a compliment. He tweeted to Rolling Stone film critic Peter Travers regarding his list of “The Best and Worst Vampires on Film and TV” –

“YES! I finally came in Number 1 in something! Thank you Mr. Travers. As Carlisle is a compassionate humanitarian, and anti-vampire in nature, being the worst vampire was quite the compliment.”

Twilight Made Me Read Vampire Diaries The Return Nightfall

Okay, let me qualify the title. I was only able to read till page 86 of Vampire Diaries The Return Nightfall, and then, I had to stop, because, as I’ve mentioned before, I scare easily.

Nevertheless, to my credit, at least I picked up the Vampire Diaries book in the Central Public Library at Bugis Singapore. Before Twilight, I would have completely ignored the book. I didn’t even want to originally read Twilight because it has vampires in it.

My vampire tolerance has increased with Twilight that I can even watch HBO hit series True Blood, which features nocturnal and mythical creatures. I watched 30 Days of Night because I wanted to see Eclipse director David Slade’s film. I also check out current vampire releases. I managed to sit through the film Daybreakers.

Yup, the Twilight series has brought out a little bit of the bloodsucker in me. LOL

True Blood vampire Stephen Moyer has taken real life fiancée Anna Paquin for his bride. E! reports that the wedding took place in a tent on a beach.

The dynamic duo tied the knot at a private residence in Malibu Saturday evening, according to Us Weekly, with guests including Elijah Wood, Michael Emerson and the couple’s True Blood costar Carrie Preston.

The vow-swap took place on a tent near the beach.

Of course, the wedding makes me think of a highly possible future exchange of vows between another vampire and his bride — Robert Pattinson and his Kristen Stewart — on a faux Isle Esme perhaps?

Vogue UK is taking note of the designers who are draping their creations on The Twilight Saga stars.

Summit Entertainment Names Breaking Dawn Casting Director

Twilight Lexicon has a statement from Summit Entertainment regarding The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn casting process.

There is only one casting director working on THE TWILIGHT SAGA : BREAKING DAWN films right now – Deborah Zane.

As of right now no local auditions are being held. If Deborah’s name is not attached to it in some form or another, it is not legitimate. She is also not putting out nationwide casting notices.

Once again – as was the case with NEW MOON and ECLIPSE – any ads you see are completely false. She has set up an e-mail address specifically for casting inquiries:

I forwarded a stranger’s email to my webmaster Manuel Viloria and inquired, “What does he mean he wants to buy ATwilightKiss.com? It’s sorta useless to buy the name because it’s associated with me.”

To my surprise, my webmaster replied that the person is interested in buying ATwilightKiss.com site lock, stock and barrel, as in, the whole caboodle, “They want to buy your entire website,
meaning domain name + content + copyright.”

Mentally, my jaw dropped.

Manuel continued to name a dollar figure that I can probably demand. Although the amount was quite tempting, the thought of losing my rights over so many original pieces of work that figuratively constituted blood, sweat and tears was just too excruciating. The answer would have to be no.

However, collaborations, work inspired by, adaptations, or limited rights thereto I might be open to, but not the whole thing.

A Fictitious Entry that Chronicles the Thirst of Kristen Stewart aka Bella Swan for Robert Pattinson aka Edward Cullen

His scent was intoxicating. In the confined interiors of the car, it swirled and surrounded me until every inhalation gripped me in the enthralling embrace of desire. He had been with me for a few days already, but, the fear that he would disappear was ever present.

He had felt my unspoken terror and sought to alleviate it by insisting on being with me every possible moment, even going to the closed On The Road set, charming his way through security and production with some glib excuse of visiting his friends, namely Tom and I.

I thought I was stronger. I thought I was immune. I thought I would be able to stand the separation that seemed to get longer and longer, until the text messages, phone calls and video chats were not enough. I hungered for his physical presence with a yearning that I didn’t know I was capable of.

We could look forward to being together on The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn set for several months, but its beginning will inexorably lead to the end when we would have to be parted again for different projects, and its imminence was tearing me apart.

We had spoken of following the example set by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wherein the famous couple would alternate projects to make sure that they could be together always, but we felt we were not in that league wherein the whole production schedule could revolve around us and our needs, which would inevitably mean that unless we were in the same film, which was highly unlikely after Twilight, we would probably spend most of the time apart.

The thought pierced me with such pain that it made me clutch his hand and burrow myself to his side, tremors shaking my slight form. Rob bent down, trying to look into my eyes and find out what was wrong, but I couldn’t explain, and unshed tears closed my throat, making speech impossible.

As we went out of the car and started walking towards the house party we were supposed to attend, an overwhelming need made me stop suddenly, forcing Tom and he to halt as well, both looking back at me with inquiring eyes.

I whirled and twined my arms around his neck to bring him close, causing him to laugh at the unexpected embrace, made even more surprising by the fact that we were in public, when I had been so insistent that nothing romantic should ever pass between us because of my aversion to reveal to everyone that we were indeed together.

The speculation from millions of prying individuals just made me insane, but, the tearful soul within me cried out for reassurance from the impending darkness, thrusting aside the danger that one of the resourceful paps could be lurking about, making me tighten my hold on his neck.

As his essence enfolded me, cuddling me in a comforting hold, my senses opened up, devouring everything about him, from his scent to the liquid look in his eyes to his warm breath. Involuntarily, my fingers slid from his nape to the back of his head, pulling him closer.

I felt him go unnaturally still, his arms hanging limply by his side, as he waited for me to decide. There can be no other option for me. Despite the danger of discovery, I dug my nails into his scalp gently to bring his mouth to mine.

I opened my lips hungrily, capturing his and sucking ravenously. I knew I only had seconds and there was no time for teasing or tenderness. My right hand secured him to me as I molded my body to his while my tongue demanded entry. Rob readily gave in to my command, putty in my hands as I ravaged his orifice with my darting viper while my lips gripped him in a vise he couldn’t possibly escape until my craving can be partially fulfilled.

I released him reluctantly and all three of us silently trudged towards the bright lights streaming through the doors, the darkness tamped down for now.

Daily Mail lists The Twilight Saga as the biggest winner of the 2010 Teen Choice Awards, which was held on 09 August 2010.

The Twilight Saga proved to be the big winner of the night, scooping 12 awards in total, including Choice Movie Actor Fantasy/Sci Fi which went to Taylor Lautner, Choice Movie Chemistry went to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and who also both won Choice Movie Star.

Pattinson also won the Choice Movie Actor; Drama gong for his role in Remember Me.

Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were on hand to receive their awards. Unfortunately, their leading lady – Kristen Stewart – was absent.

The Twilight Saga Eclipse Third Biggest Movie of the Year So Far

E! has tallied the receipts and, so far, The Twilight Saga Eclipse comes up as the third highest grossing movie of the year as of 07 August 2010.

Worldwide, [The Twilight Saga Eclipse has earned] about $650 million, which makes it the year’s biggest 2-D movie so far, and third biggest overall, behind the 3-D-assisted Alice in Wonderland and Toy Story 3.

The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2 Release Dates

Summit Entertainment has finally announced the opening date for Part 2 of The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn. It will be more or less a year after the first part has been released.

‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2′ is slated to reach theaters on Nov. 16, 2012. ‘Breaking Dawn, Part 1,’ meanwhile, is scheduled to hit the big screen on November 18, 2011.

The films are expected to go into production this fall.

My favorite New Moon actor, Emmy winner and BAFTA nominee Michael Sheen, allegedly got the highest pay check for his work in the second installment of The Twilight Saga

Today Michael Sheen is one of the most in demand character actors in the world. Famously cheap Summit Entertainment spared no expense in landing him for the role of evil vampire Aro in the Twilight movies. For Summit, there was simply no other option, it HAD to be Michael, and they paid him more than anybody else in the cast. For ten minutes of screen time he made more than Those Three [Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner] who had to carry the movie.

After being scared to bits with animated film Coraline on HBO Asia on 25 July 2010, I was surprised to read the name of Dakota Fanning as Coraline during the credits, especially since I didn’t recognize her voice at all.

And then I remembered that the talented actor was very busy in the early part of 2009 when she was promoting two films — science fiction thriller film Push from Summit Entertainment and Coraline from Universal Pictures — which were released consecutively on January and February 2009.

Sabrina Frank, winner of the German casting show “Mission Hollywood,” who won the part of Rosalie’s friend Vera, gave glamour.de a short interview about her part and her experiences on [The Twilight Saga Eclipse] set.

Did Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart seem arrogant?

It is remarkable that the actors, who had rather small parts in “Eclipse,” were a lot more arrogant than Robert and Kristen. Some didn’t even shake my hand or looked into my eyes. That was all very superficial. In contrast, Kristen and Robert looked at me as if they were really interested, shook my hand and listened when I talked. It felt very comfortable and authentic to me, so different from what one expects.

At the time there were a lot of rumors about an affair between Robert and Kristen, did you notice anything about that?

No. I only saw them together once and I think they are way too professional to cuddle and kiss on [The Twilight Saga Eclipse] set.

You were on [The Twilight Saga Eclipse] set for four days. What were your highlights?

To meet Robert and Kristen. And to see, how normal they really are. I would have liked to do something nice for them, because I pitied them so much. They have to hide all the time, for there are children and teenagers on the fences. They don’t have a single minute to themselves. To stay so normal anyway, in my opinion, is really an accomplishment.

Also, I was taken seriously as an actress. I was allowed inside the trailer of director David Slade, and, like any other actor, to talk to him about my part. That was amazing.

Do you know why your scene didn’t make it into the [The Twilight Saga Eclipse] movie?

As it is in this business, you just can’t influence everything. The director has the power and chooses which scene makes it into the movie. Still, I was very sad.

The 2008 12 minute short film The Summer House, which includes Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson in its cast, is now available for download in iTunes.

Looking at the IMDB cast does indeed list Robert Pattinson in the Daisy Gili directed film, although its placement also suggests that he may have accepted a supporting role.

The official website of The Summer House announces that it is the first film from the 2002 founded school London Film Academy

This film is a mystery to me, and, I’m actually pleased that it was shot without any fanfare from the paps.

Breaking Dawn Extras Casting Auditions Call for Louisiana Residents

Entertainment Tonight has confirmed that there will be two locations for the shooting of The Twilight Saga — Breaking Dawn — Baton Rouge in Louisiana USA and Vancouver in British Columbia Canada

Examiner.com explains the financial reasons behind the decision to shoot in Baton Rouge in Louisiana

Filming begins November 2010, and it now appears likely that shooting will take place in the state of Louisiana. There is a very large amount of filming that takes place in Louisiana due to the large tax credits that the state offers the studios.

Louisiana offers a 30% transferable incentive for total in-state expenditures related to the production of a motion picture. The budget on both parts of Breaking Dawn will be substantially greater than the previous installments in the series, therefore Summit Entertainment would benefit greatly by filming in Louisiana, and low key negotiations with the state film commission are taking place.
