Dakota Fanning Meets Cherie Currie of The Runaways

New Moon star Dakota Fanning comes face to face with The Runaways front woman she is supposed to portray in the film — Cherie Currie herself.
Interestingly, Dakota Fanning at age 15 is of the same age when Cherie Currie joined “The Runaways in 1975, where the classic teen rock anthem “Cherry Bomb” was written for her at the audition.”
With Cherie Currie in lead vocals, The Runaways went on to form a niche in musical history.
The Runaways have historical significance for being the first all-girl rock band to have hit songs, record platinum albums (at least 1,000,000 units sold), tour internationally, and acquire fame.

i think Joan Jett is holding herself better than this cherry currie … JJ has the youthful look!

I really hope Ms. Fanning can pull off her given role as Cherie… Cherie was/is as tough as they come. The lost daughter of Iggy Pop and Brigitte Bardot, she has been called. Dakota should be honored to play Cherie.
