Chris Weitz Film Garners High Praise From Critics
From the compilation of top critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, such as the New York Times, Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly, indie film A Better Life of Chris Weitz has garnered a very high 83% approval rating.
Personally, I’m very happy and relieved because the work of Chris Weitz seems to be more effective with smaller films than large-scale movies. For example, American Pie had more of an emotional impact on me than The Twilight Saga New Moon and The Golden Compass
Maybe, Catherine Hardwicke can also examine her own roots as an indie film director, since her Twilight and Red Riding Hood stints can hardly compare with her award-winning Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown.
A Better Life opens on limited release on 24 June 2011 in the United States. It’s playing in LA at: Arclight Hollywood and Landmark Westside Pavilion. In NY: the AMC Lincoln Center, and the Landmark Sunshine.
