A rep for Jackson Rathbone has confirmed to Us Weekly that the Twilight star and his girlfriend are pregnant with their first child.

Twilight’s Jackson Rathbone and his girlfriend Sheila Hafsadi will become first-time parents later this year, Rathbone’s rep confirms to Us Weekly.

The couple “is thrilled and excited to be expecting their first child,” his rep says.

According to a source, burlesque dancer Hafsadi — who met the actor-musician during a tour stop with his band 100 Monkeys — is five months pregnant.

Unfortunately, Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon will be the only one doing the audio commentary for The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1, with nary a peep from Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Despite this disappointment, it will be interesting to find out what will be inadvertently revealed.

Bryce Dallas Howard, who replaced Rachelle LeFevre (in a controversial move by Summit) to play Twilight baddie Victoria in The Twilight Saga Eclipse, officially confirmed that she’s pregnant last May 2011. On 19 January 2012, her wait for a visit from the stork was finally over as her whole family celebrated the arrival of a baby girl. US Weekly reports.

The Help actress, [Bryce Dallas Howard], welcomed a daughter into the world on Thursday, which her dad, famous movie producer/director Ron Howard, confirmed via Twitter Saturday evening.

“Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel. Born Jan 19 2012. 8lbs 6oz. Bryce & Baby B are spectacular. Daddy Seth & brother Theo are beaming ear to ear. ”

Target ups the ante on The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD sales. Not only will it sell DVDs featuring an actual flower prop from the wedding decor set for US$29.99, it will debut a Breaking Dawn Part 2 scene during the Part 1 DVD release parties on 10 February 2012 at 11pm.

Walmart, on the other hand, features a “Bella’s Wedding Dress Edition” DVD, which includes:

While promoting his upcoming film The Woman in Black, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was grilled mercilessly by top MTV reporter Josh Horowitz about everything American, with one section focusing on The Twilight Saga (go to 1:49).

Although any Twilighter would have rattled off the answers to the question as to what were the titles of the movie series, the film and theater actor struggled, eventually naming them all; and, after having been informed that he was correct, joked about expressing relief that he won’t be subjected to the ire of a billion Twilight fans online. When asked which one was the best film, Daniel Radcliffe also confessed that he has only been able to catch the first film.

Twilight The Musical — A Parody

In July 2009, I wrote that Twilight will most likely one day be a Broadway musical, pointing out unlikely adaptations such as Lord of the Rings and Spiderman as current Great White Way productions. Well, my prediction has partially become true.

Playbill reports that a parody of Twilight will be staged, which “examines our culture of obsession through the story of teenage outsider Bella Swan who risks everything when she embarks on a star-crossed romance with Vampire Edward Cullen.”

If ever The Twilight Saga the Musical will be staged, it has to be AFTER the Breaking Dawn Part 2 film, which is the standard practice in order to protect and support certain creative adaptations from any written work.

Is Summit Entertainment Up for Sale

Surprisingly, Variety reports that Summit Entertainment was already in talks with Lionsgate regarding the possibility of a merger even before the release of Twilight. Miramax threw its hat in the ring recently on November 2011. Although Summit’s top brass will most probably retain “top-level exec capacities in the merged entity,” the name of Summit itself will most probably disappear. However, there are advantages if either Lionsgate or Miramax acquires Summit.

Both deals would bolster the new Summit’s ability to operate as a minimajor. Lionsgate and Miramax possess significant libraries and the merged entity would have more firepower in a marketplace where the major have scaled back the production of mid-budget films in favor of tentpole and franchise properties — creating an opportunity for sizable indies to fill that gap.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 Bedroom Scenes Cut Short in Abu Dhabi Version

Having a job that requires her to travel internationally has given ATK reader Karen the opportunity to compare two versions of The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 film, as well as to report, quite emphatically, may I add, that there is absolutely no truth to the reports that the rated version is being screened in India (based on her Indian co-workers cum Twilighters’ stories).

By its opening week, ATK reader Karen had watched Breaking Dawn twice in Abu Dhabi, but, she instinctively knew that the honeymoon scenes were cut. As soon as she was able to watch it three times on Breaking Dawn’s second week, in Manila this time, her suspicions were confirmed to be correct.

So, what was cut? Basically, everything that involved the shoulder downward, which meant after the kiss in the water (as in just the kiss, not the lifting of Bella where the beginning of her backside was seen), the next scene was Bella waking up with the feathers floating in the air.

Another major cut was when Bella was reminiscing about her honeymoon night, so, again, after the kiss it went on to the next sequence. That meant the scene where there was a brief exposure of Kristen Stewart’s breast disappeared and the part after the dream when Bella straddles Edward.

So, what was your viewing experience? Were there also cuts?

Jollibee Limited Edition Breaking Dawn Part 1 Tumblers

I saw a poster advertising the Jollibee Limited Edition Breaking Dawn Part 1 tumblers on a store window today, 24 November 2011, and that caused me to go in and buy the burger and hotdog meals, which includes sodas and packets of french fries, for breakfast. Disgusting, I know! (The tribulations of a Twilighter…)

Anyway, I am now the happy owner of two limited edition Breaking Dawn tumblers, which are now soaking in soapy water. The plastic for the straw is pretty malleable (meaning, it won’t hurt), while the tumbler itself is of the type that doesn’t have the raw edges that have made past promotions of other franchises so dangerous for the hands and mouth.

The tumblers will be available for a meal purchase with an additional fee of Php 25 (US $0.50) till 03 December 2011 at Jollibee branches in the Philippines.

Twilighters vs. Non-Twilighters The first time I watched The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 was on 17 November 2011, a preview at SM North EDSA Mall, where most of the people who attended were Twilighters. However, my second screening on 19 November 2011 was a fundraiser, which brought together an eclectic mix of viewers, ranging from pre-schoolers to grandparents.

Although the overall excitement was definitely less, it was interesting to note which parts non-Twilighters responded to. My second screening confirmed my opinion that director Bill Condon’s treatment, which was a deft mix of drama and comedy, was one that a general audience can enjoy even without prior knowledge of the film or book series.

Nevertheless, watching Breaking Dawn Part 1 with fellow Twilighters during my first screening was definitely more fun because of the collective reactions to certain scenes or lines, solidifying a community that has already bonded over a book series.

Age Appropriate The pre-schooler behind us, approximately six years of age, got really scared when Edward held the bloody Renesmee, aside from being generally frightened when death and blood were present. My niece, who was a tween, was more or less fine.

With the presence of young audience members, I was thankful that the lovemaking sequences were edited for brevity, and left a lot to the imagination. Although, there was a funny moment when the big screen shot of Bella in the chaotic bedroom was shown, because it caused the pre-schooler to innocently ask her mom, “Sinira niya yung bed?” (Did Edward destroy the bed?) Thankfully, she became distracted and didn’t ask the follow up question as to the reason why Edward mangled the whole room.

Homage to Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon really put an effort to integrate shots from the previous Twilight Saga movies — Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse — as well as attempting to provide a fluidity to the film series by replicating some camera angles that were utilized by past directors Catherine Hardwicke, Chris Weitz and David Slade

Attention to Book Details While watching the film for the second time, I also had the opportunity to appreciate the efforts of Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon to bring certain book details to the big screen, balancing demands from fans with what he deemed pertinent to the film’s storyline — a very tough act.

My Breaking Dawn Part 1 Thoughts

Laughter Galore I have never laughed so much during any Twilight Saga movie, not that it was ridiculous, but director Bill Condon made sure to add levity to what will soon be a grave situation, and, even then, managed to elicit a laugh. In particular, the honeymoon’s sexual tug-o-war and Edward’s eventual capitulation was one amusing shot after another.

Skinny Bella The digital techniques employed to reduce Kristen Stewart to a skeletal and sickly pregnant Bella Swan were so effective that when she transformed into a vampire, the return of her beauty became even more remarkable. The CSI type of digital technology to illustrate what’s happening inside Bella’s systems was also quite helpful.

Tight Editing The pacing was excellent, with everyone being shown at their best. Director Bill Condon recognized his actors’ weaknesses and made sure they were not exposed to their disadvantage. A very good example would be the members of the pack, majority of whom were in action sequences and had limited lines. Even Kristen and Rob’s acting ticks were greatly reduced with gentle prodding (I’m assuming) from their director.

Shape-Shifter Technology The digital werewolves, for some reason, are still not impressive. I cannot pinpoint what’s bothering me, whether it’s their size, hair movement, or what.

Poor Action Choreography Although Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon proved to have a deft touch for intermingling drama with comedy, his poor eye for blocking fights was immediately evident as werewolves and vampires were reduced to punching, blocking and shoving. And this worries me. A lot. Breaking Dawn Part 2 is basically an action film.

Michael Sheen May Miss Breaking Dawn Part 1 London Premiere

Unless the London premiere of The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 is on a Monday night (the regular day-off for West End performers), I doubt Michael Sheen will be able to make it to any premiere. The highly respected thespian is tackling one of the landmark roles for any actor, that of the Prince of Denmark — Hamlet — which opened on 09 November 2011 at the Young Vic Theatre in London England. Girlfriend Rachel McAdams was spotted attending several performances.

Meanwhile, checking on the Internet, it can be surmised that Michael Sheen may indeed be absent for the London premiere of The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 , because it’s scheduled on Wednesday, 16th November 2011 at Vue Westifeld, Stratford City, London.

However, the Breaking Dawn LA premiere will be on Monday, 14 November 2011 at the Nokia Theatre. Maybe Michael Sheen will fly to Los Angeles and watch the movie with his daughter Lily, who was the one who persuaded her father to accept the Twilight film project in the first place.

In preparation for their Breaking Dawn Part 1 press duties, the famous Twilight trio of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner reunited to press their digits, palms, toes and heels in cement at the well-known Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood on 03 November 2011.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart recently flew in from Europe for the ceremony. Twilight author Stephenie Meyer was also on hand to congratulate the actors who have brought her characters to life.

The hand and foot prints of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner can now be visited by their fans at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

Taylor Lautner Is Producer and Star of Gus Van Sant Film

This announcement explains all the sightings of Taylor Lautner with acclaimed director Gus Van Sant. Taylor will star in the latest indie film from Gus Van Sant.

However, what was a surprise for me was to learn that Taylor Lautner is producing the indie film through his own firm Quick Six. The film will be based on a nonfiction New Yorker Magazine article Taylor has optioned.

Through his Quick Six production house, Taylor can be expected to push for films that can showcase his talents and projects that he’s interested in. Maybe it can also be a medium for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to have their pet projects produced.

Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins did something at the Abduction London premiere that they should have done at the LA premiere — pose together. The Abduction lovebirds are rumored to have split when their off-screen romance didn’t work out. Hopefully, despite the lackluster first weekend performance of Abduction, the total worldwide receipts will prove to be worthwhile for its producers in the end.

It seems that Volturi Michael Sheen is not the only one persuaded by the pleas of a Twilighter, who also happens to be his daughter. The well-respected actor accepted the role of Aro so that his daughter could attend the New Moon premiere.

In the same vein, Abduction director John Singleton related that he decided to accept the film project because of a special young lady. BET.com reports.

“I only knew Taylor Lautner because my daughter’s a big fan, and is a huge Twilight fan. She was like, ‘Dad, you’ve got to do this movie, Dad, you’ve got to do this movie!”

Random Abduction Thoughts

Abduction is clearly targeted for the young male markets, which is probably a good decision since a budding action male star can’t build a career on the female markets alone.

Since the last time I saw him was in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it took some time getting used to Jason “Lucius Malfoy” Isaacs with short black hair, instead of flowing white-blond locks.

Watching Lily Collins in Abduction gives one glimpses of how she’ll attack Snow White. Her highlights are fantastic under sunlight. Kudos to her hairstylist!

Taylor Lautner had great difficulty playing a “bad boy” with rage and impulsive issues in Abduction.

I love those Amtrak suites. What a great way to travel!

The Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins cum Nathan Price and Karen Lowell “almost had sex” scene of wrapping her legs around his waist, slamming against the wall and whatnot was not organic. Too much sound and fury signifying nothing.

I find it illogical that the “bad guy” didn’t follow the characters of Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins to find out which suite they were in, plus, if they were really thinking of security, why did Nathan let Karen get the food, which basically put her in danger, instead of insisting that she stay while he goes out? (Unless his brain was too befuddled with the fact that they almost had sex.)

Actually, if the bad guy had attacked him from the hallway into their suite, it would have been a more interesting sequence with Nathan trying to fight the guy while trying to keep Karen safe within the confined space of the train suite.

Unsurprisingly, Taylor Lautner was a great mover during his stunts.

Breaking Dawn wedding gown designer Carolina Herrera is known for her elegant and sophisticated clothes, which she displayed at the recently concluded 2011 New York Fashion Week, exhibiting interesting geometrical patterns on flowing, soft materials. Unfortunately, I don’t think her collection holds any piece that may be appropriate for the upcoming The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 premieres that will be taking place all over the world before the opening on 18 November 2011.

On 15 September 2011, Taylor Lautner attended the Abduction premiere on the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. His Abduction co-stars Lily Collins, Jason Isaacs and Sigourney Weaver joined him at the red carpet. Strangely enough, Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins opted not to be photographed together. Anyway, one of the wolf pack was spotted at the Abduction premiere — Booboo Stewart — presumably to support his “brother.”

Will You Watch Taylor Lautner in Abduction

Although the premise of Abduction is perfect for Taylor Lautner, that of a teenager who finds himself on a missing children list and consequently finds himself the target of assassination attempts, it’s familiar enough to make some plot lines predictable.

On the other hand, even if Abduction turns out to be familiar, there’s Avatar and Aliens star Sigourney Weaver, Spiderman star Alfred “Doctor Octopus” Molina and Harry Potter villain Jason “Lucius Malfoy” Isaacs to look forward to.

Or, just to be supportive of Taylor Lautner’s first a leading role out of The Twilight Saga series may be reason enough to fork out the money for an Abduction screening. We’ll see…

Bryce Dallas Howard joins a talented cast for the film adaptation of the sensational bestseller The Help, which tells the story of “African American maids working in white households in Jackson, Mississippi during the early 1960s.” Despite the tough competition it faced from big-budgeted summer blockbuster films, The Help has inched its way to the top after two weeks. RadarOnline.com reports.

The Help powered its way to a first place finish, pulling in $20.5 million in its second week in release.

It ran past three much bigger, more expensive action pictures, Rise of the Planet of the Apes ($16.3 million), Spy Kids 4D ($12 million) and Conan the Barbarian ($10.5 million).
