I didn’t understand what was driving me. All I knew was I needed to see him, to touch him, to see his smile, to be enfolded in his arms. Even his assurance that he would be flying from Toronto to Los Angeles in a week’s time was not enough. Seven days seemed too far away, involved too much waiting. I needed to see him now.

So I flew to where he was.

I was impatient. As soon as he walked through the door, I tore his clothes off. I was too hungry for his touch. I needed to feel his skin pressed to mine. I wanted him to be inside me, filling my depths until the emptiness receded, until the gripping cold disappeared.

I saw Rob thoughtfully reading something on his laptop, and then, chuckling once in a while. Curiously, I looked over his shoulder. F—k! It’s those damn diaries! What has she written now?

The first paragraph brought me up short.

Was there ever a bloke who had a problem such as mine? I think not. I must hold the dubious honor of having a girlfriend who doesn’t want to go out on a date with me.

Of course the paps were waiting for us. Because someone in the restaurant could not resist. Probably tweeted or sent a text to a friend. Then before you know it, the paps somehow picked it up, and so here they are taking pictures of Rob and I as we exited the Ago Restaurant in Los Angeles.

I was so f—ing raging mad that I ignored Rob’s attempts to shield me from the paps by going in front of me. Instead, I strode even faster until I passed him and advanced towards the hungry waiting throng at the Los Angeles airport where I knew we would be mobbed by f—ing cameras and f—ing intrusive questions.

Finally, Rob gave up and followed silently behind me as I stormed towards the f—ing paps, eager to shove my way through them, hoping that some of them would feel some sort of pain from my physical aggression that was struggling violently to be let loose.

His scent was intoxicating. In the confined interiors of the car, it swirled and surrounded me until every inhalation gripped me in the enthralling embrace of desire. He had been with me for a few days already, but, the fear that he would disappear was ever present.

He had felt my unspoken terror and sought to alleviate it by insisting on being with me every possible moment, even going to the closed On The Road set, charming his way through security and production with some glib excuse of visiting his friends, namely Tom and I.
