Can Twilighter Emma Roberts Have A Different Opinion Please

CHOICE… It’s a basic human right that demands to be respected. Totally. Yet, even if choice was emphasized repeatedly in the Twilight books, especially in the relationships between Edward, Bella and Jacob, the reverence for this human right is trampled again and again in a despicable manner by Twilighters themselves in their desire for everyone to be of the same opinion.

Homogeneity and sameness is NOT good for the human race. It will mean stagnation and death of every conceivable aspect of life. Instead, we should celebrate differences with an abundant tolerance and understanding.

Instead of celebrating the fact that Emma Roberts has obviously read the Twilight books and is knowledgeable enough to make a choice to be for Team Jacob, Twilighters descended upon her like a pack of locusts, attacking her via Twitter, and leaving destruction in its wake by forcing Emma Roberts to close her Twitter account to avoid any more vicious written blows.

For those who became part of this unwarranted attack, were you ecstatic afterward? Were you feeling triumphant? Are you patting each other on the back in approval?

The theme of the Twilight books is LOVE. A true Twilighter should have taken this to heart and tried to embody it in the simple choices that she makes in everyday life from a warm smile at another person or saying thank you appreciatively, to complicated choices about family and personal relationships.

For a Twilighter to take her love for the Twilight books and somehow mangle that love to become a hateful and vitriolic attack on another human being is a betrayal and tragedy of the greatest magnitude.

CHOICE… TOLERANCE… LOVE…

I Totally agree with you Lorna, fellow twilighters where not acting accordingly to the level of intelligence and class as all fans of Twilight display everywhere!

Sorry girlies but you miss represented us all, I´m sad to say that I was at the time surprised by her answer about being Team Jacob, firstly because I thought it was impolite to say this to the actor portraying Edward, but at the same time I was surprised also because everyone would have answered Team Edward to be polite and to conform.

I myself am Team Edward/Bella, I like these characters, I love that they end up together, I love the relationship, even thou it´s flawed like every love story in the world, but I also love that Bella has a choice that she stick to what she knew in her hart was right for her, even if Jacob represented something more normal, or socially acceptable.

We are all faced with decisions in our lives but what we choice and how we act is really the test of our character.

I love being a twi-hart, twilighted, or what ever you want to call us, but I´m sadden that I am associated with the actions not the people that did this.

    Still devoted to twilight
    Melissa

I couldn’t agree with you more Lorna!

  • Ariadne Says:

Οf course she can,it’s her right to believe whatever she wants, some fans are really crazy, they need to grow up,they can’t seperate Twilight from reality apparently

  • gargamel Says:

tsk. i apologize for what they did to you emma.
they will come to their senses. F—KTAAARDDDDSS (calling),…say you’re sorry…NOW!

  • kristine Says:

i totally respect that she is on team jacob, but to be perfectly honest, i think the manner in which she said it was the thing that hard core twihards are pissed at. i have to admit that she was indeed a bit b*tchy and snobbish towards rob. and the hair comment was uncalled for. at least it’s a good thing rob was mature enough to joke about it.

Girlies.. Lately Rob is always smiling and laughing and you can feel that he is really really happy? am I imagining that?

  • Jime Says:

I dont support the attack, that was so out of control. Im team edward, but i have no problem with team jacob (it kind of makes sense hah, plus she’s good friends with taylor).
But like @kristine I felt like her attitude was weird…not so nice. But maybe that’s because i’ve always considered her a little cocky

  • Georgina Says:

Sorry to disagree, i’m not support the bullies, but media blown this matter out of proportion, making Emma as a victim. If you guys see the interview clearly, she was obnoxious and rude, her comments and her tweet after that aren’t compliments, they’re sarcastic insults, Rob handled very well, and those twitter attacks are not caused by Team Jacob comment but her rudeness.

  • lily Says:

that actually makes me slightly embarrased to be a fan, i would rather not be assosciated with those who act like that.

  • serenaj Says:

Rob handled the situation perfectly, he does not need rabid fans defending him against a young girl. Major fail on their part.

  • Gina Says:

Georgina is right…no one cared that ER was Team Jacob, not everyone is Team Edward, but the way she said it caused those few, yes few, people attack her on Twitter. For the most part a lot of people tweeted her support. She didn’t count on Rob being very quick witted. She was very obnoxious during the show (”do I have sit next to him for the rest of the show?” WTF?!, she needs home training.)

  • JO Says:

    I second that!

  • Amelia Says:

I agree, it wasn’t that she was Team Jacob but the fact that she seemed to have something against Rob who is always a true gentleman. Only speculating but have you seen this: http://uk.eonline.com/uberblog/the_awful_truth/b186218_real_reason_emma_roberts_isnt_team.html
