Breaking Dawn May Be Filming In Portland Oregon September 2010
The Twilight Saga cast may be bidding adieu to Vancouver for the mundane but very important reason of tax incentives. Lainey Gossip reports.
The first movie was shot in Oregon. Oregon desperately wants Twilight to return for the 4th film and they’ve introduced major tax incentives, etc., to lure the production back.
I’m told that as of press time the intention is to begin production on the fourth and final in September [2010]. In Portland.
Things are fluid, of course. And it could change. But unless British Columbia changes its film tax structure, it’s more financially feasible for Summit to shoot elsewhere. Say goodbye Vancouver.
To the Breaking Dawn director, if Portland Oregon does become your site, then we will wish that hardly any hail or snow or rain or lightning will interrupt the shooting.

isn’t shooting in portland “hellishly difficult”? but i guess it makes sense. they started filming there, so it makes it alright to end it there as well. i’m really more concerned about who the director is going to be.
GO TEAM CHRIS WEITZ! hahaha

It doesn’t matter where they shoot as long as Chris Weitz is the director then I’m happy! Go CW!

September 2010? I figured they would start filming way earlier than that. They are trying to churn these out quickly do to Rob’s ‘aging’ process…I had heard February or March for a November or December release. They are going to have to do some major special effects on this movie due to Reneesme and Bella going Vampire. Either way I can’t wait. I already have my New Moon tickets in hand. 40 days to go!!!!

I dont really care where they shoot…..My concern is the fact that I will have to wait up to a year (or more) between eclipse and breaking dawn! The upside to the break- im team David Slade….and he would be more apt to direct if eclipse is done before filming of BD.

Oh god, i can’t wait for breaking dawn!! I wish they would film it in Staten Island though, it’s so close to manhattan and Brooklyn ( for my benifit =P). Plus I was passing through and it had the same sort of “smalltown” feel.
And they’re going to film breaking dawn? I heard so many rumors saying that it would be too difficult to create a renesmee or that she
wouldn’t look real. In any words, YAY!!!

Seriously? You think the weather here in Oregon is any different than Vancouver. Really? If you back and read or watch ANY of the video at all of the time when they were filming here in Portland, it was a freak spring. Most of Feb and early March was sunny and warm (not normal) and the rest of March and April it was extremely bazaar weather-snow, hail, wind lots of storm. And everyone talked about how ABNORMAL that was. Vancouver probably has worth weather then Oregon, it is further north. Normally Oregon is very mild besides the rain and grey skies, which is great for making a Twilight franchise movie.

Why would filming in Oregon be “hellishly difficult?” Just curious.

As a native Oregonian, the weather isn’t that bad. Yes, it rains. But in September it’s usually beautiful.
