ATwilightKiss Publishes Its First Spanish Post

The Spanish Initiative Since Crepusculo Meyer and other Spanish sites have translated 10 Don’ts for Kristen Stewart or People Will Say You’re In Love with Robert Pattinson into one of the most popular languages in the world, it planted a seed that some ATK posts might be interesting as well for the Spanish speaking Twilighters.
A Gift from the Heavens Although it was a good idea, it remained an idea for months because I could barely remember my college Spanish and would definitely not be qualified to do the translations. A couple of people I know who have lived and worked in Spain were too busy, so, I was embarrassed even to ask them.
So when ATK reader Bell sent me an email with a first time translation of her work from Spanish to English, it was a eureka moment. Would she be interested in translating one of The Robert Pattinson diaries from English to Spanish?
Surprisingly, her answer was swift and sure. Not only did she say yes, but, she finished the translation in a very short period of time. Like, the day after I asked her, I received an email apologizing for the delay since she could only do it in her free time, and, voila, there it was — Los Diarios de Robert Pattinson – Los Botones Explosivos de Kristen Stewart
After months of not knowing how to make an idea happen, and, kaboom, the dream became a reality. It was like Bell was a gift from the heavens. 
First time ATK Readers What I thought would be a post that would be accessed by Spanish speaking ATK readers turned out to be a magnet for those who have never visited the blog before, and, who were understandably upset with the notion that Robert Pattinson could have such lascivious thoughts about his New Moon co-star Kristen Stewart, since they were unfamiliar with the blog’s tongue in cheek humor.
An explanation had to be added, but, otherwise, the response seems to be generally positive. Thank you very much from Bell and I! 
Inspired to Study Spanish Again Today’s first publication of ATwilightKiss Spanish post has inspired me to go ahead with half-formed plans to study the language again. I went to Instituto Cervantes in Manila and enrolled for twice a week night classes.

Awesome Lorna and Bell! Congrats for going international. Eversince I came across ATK site, I was totally hooked and can’t get enough of the wonderful posts! To Lorna, it was so nice of you to learn Spanish again. I was not able to learn the language but since I also live in Manila…i know some. ha ha. Thank you again and keep up the “juicest” posts!

to lorna. this idea of yours about translating your blog from english to spanish is truly brilliant. it can be read and accessed by so many spanish speaking folks, thus, they can appreciate your work. how about another romantic language? like italian…?

Congratz Lorna! Wow…international ATK. But to be honest, I didn’t think I would be VERY addicted to ATK after I stumbled on this site one day. Best Twilight site ever!
