Are Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Eligible for Red Cross Blood Donations

With The Twilight Saga dad Peter Facinelli lending his star power to bring focus on the efforts of the Red Cross to encourage blood donations, one wonders if other Twilight stars will do the same.
A relatively unknown fact is that New Moon heroine Kristen Stewart has already found the cause worthy of her attention. In her IMDB biography (which I shall assume is updated especially since the boyfriend announcement controversy) Kristen’s name is listed in association with the well known international organization.
[Kristen Stewart] is a supporter and member of the Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet.
It still remains to be seen whether New Moon heartthrob Robert Pattinson will be joining his co-star in this worthy cause. Maybe a promise of a bite on the neck from rumored lady love Kristen Stewart will encourage the resident Twilight vampire to bite his own teeth into the project.
To find out the guidelines for blood donation eligibility, please click here. And, remember, any blood donation you make is a deposit in your blood bank that you can withdraw any time for an emergency. The withdrawal need not be necessarily your own blood type, but, any blood type, the amount of which is equal or lesser to the amount that you deposited. It can be for you, a family member, a friend, etc., subject to availability, of course. Please ask a Red Cross representative for more information.
Thanks to ATK reader al for the heads up re Kristen Stewart.
FYI. i read some magazines and articles in internet that said our KStew is a member of Hollywood Red Cross. how sweet is that

I think that is great, any person eligible to should give blood. I give on a regular basis… even though my blood type is pretty common. It really is the gift of life….. Who knows…. one day it may be your life in need of that gift!

If only Rob can go out there and encourage millions of his young fans and says.
“Okay, peeps, don’t shed your blood for me, donate it.” Red Cross would probably have enough blood supply for decades.

She is just an angel. So young and she already is a member of Red Cross. Love her more.
Btw, I would love to donate blood but I’m too underweight so I can’t
. I was gonna donate blood when they went to my school, but was informed that underweight (under 50 kgs) can’t donate blood.

some of the information above is wrong – you cannot withdraw your blood from a bank when there is an emergency. This is very misleading! Please donate blood as often as possible to help people in hospitals who need it. Hopefully others will do the same for you when you need it. Props to Kristen for supporing the Red Cross!

Hi Betty. I tool CPR with the Philippine National Red Cross three times and this was the information given to us. You may withdraw from a Red Cross branch, not necessarily your own blood, but, any blood that is of equal or lesser amount as the one you deposited. It can be for you, a family member, a friend, etc.
