An Offer to Review Defining Twilight
An Internet Surprise The Internet can really bring the most pleasant of surprises. I received an unexpected email on 21 July 2009 8.39pm
Hi Lorna,
Thanks for posting about the essay contest.
Would you like a copy of Defining Twilight to review on your site?
If so, send me your address.
Thanks!
Brian Leaf
An Admission to Ignorance I had to clarify something before accepting the offer.
Hello Brian,
This is a very pleasant surprise! You’re welcome. I truly loved the contest’s concept, that’s why I featured it.
And, thank you very much for your offer. However, I must confess that I am not familiar with the SAT, ACT, GED, and SSAT.
Thank you.
Regards,
Lorna
A Future Book Review I guess you’ll be seeing a Defining Twilight book review in the future.
Hi Lorna,
Sure, I’ll send you a book.
The SAT, ACT, GED, and SSAT are standardized tests taken by that students in the US.
One need not be familiar with the tests to use the book as a vocab builder.
I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks!
-Brian Leaf

Yes, Isabel, Obvious and robyn, it was very nice of Brian Leaf to make an offer to send the book.
Unhinged, if I have questions about the SAT, ACT, GED, and SSAT, you will most probably get an email from me… LOL
Islesme, that is so sweet of you to say so! Thank you!
marya, I sincerely doubt they will change the rules. However, since the rules also say that copyright remains with the author, meaning me, I basically gave them carte blanche to use it.
The contest wants to promote reading, and, I’m always for that. If my entry can be used for the cause of reading then I say “Yay!”
And, mayhemonte, soliciting for book reviews, I think, is part of the promotion for the Defining Twilight book, so, I will definitely be posting it on the site. That way, anybody who’s searching about the book can access it through my blog. Of course, as I warned Brian, I will be limited by my ignorance of the tests that the book is supposed to prepare readers for.
And, I’m sure Brian will understand if I say what’s on my mind. He may not necessarily like it though.
Thank you everyone!
